Seriously, drawing cards is really strong... maybe too strong. We've seen a lot of mileage gotten from Frankie + Stranger, and it just seems that any hobo can shove these cards into their deck to make it better. If UDE wanted everyone to have 44 card decks, we'd all be playing a carbon copy of Yu-Gi-Oh!
Perhaps this isn't a PANIC! situation, but at least this is a wakeup call. If there really is a turn 4 Nega-Bomb, this is obviously counter to the origional card intentions, and the huge volume of cards necessary to pull this off is enabled by Frankie Raye.
Ummm... this might seem obvious, but if I'm playing a character that costs 9 or more, don't I deserve the ice cream and strawberries of +20/+20?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, that's classic
joher, we're not talking about that frankie raye one-drop, we're talking about this one:
You may discard a card rather than pay Frankie Raye's recruit cost. When Frankie Raye comes into play, you may discard a card with cost 4 or greater. If you do, draw two cards. Flight/Range. 1/1
There's very, very limited tech against it, and said tech is either draw-dependent or teamstamped (Null Time Zone and Conclave, there you go).
And remember, until players made it clear that they didn't like the environment going into PCLA, UDE was perfectly willing to allow multiple broken combo decks at the PC.
All the time, but Pro Circuits aren't just your kitchen table and they shouldn't be.
I hear ya...
It's just frustrating for us non-pros to know that in a few weeks the meta is going to degenerate to the new, unbeatable, flavor of the month.
It has an effect on ALL of us, your top tier decks get emulated 10 seconds after DAY 1 is posted, then we have to deal with them at the next 4 PCQs while the pros move on to test the next format.
I may not ever day 2, but I like to go to PCQs, and hell the occasional PC as well and I dump just as much into this hobby as the rest of you. So yeah, I'm gonna get heated knowing that people are holding out when they know the meta is going to break because of a deck.
I really don't want to see another card hit w/ the ban hammer. I understand Dr. Light as he was hampering development of future cards. He had been dodging the ban for quite a while.
I think the solution is to start putting printed team affiliation on these abilities so Frankie's only broken if Galactus is around and such. If Dr. Light had been team-stamped, Emerald Enemies would have been top tier because they would have circumnavigated the resource rule better than anyone.
Anyone on a team has an obligation to their teammates to not leak team decklists that superceedes their obligation to the VS community to keep the meta in good shape. This is a necessary evil and the reality of any game where people test in teams.
That being said enough pieces have been mentioned that you can start trying to put together your own lists that do this.
To recap the mentioned stuff we have:
4 Frankie Raye
4 Poison Ivy
4 Phantom Starnger 7
4 Nega Bomb
Some Number of Deadshot
Some other free guys
Some sort of team up
Other enablers
And remember, until players made it clear that they didn't like the environment going into PCLA, UDE was perfectly willing to allow multiple broken combo decks at the PC. That's what this thread is about: it's players saying "look, this card breaks the game. Please get rid of it so we can have fun."
And remember, it wasn't until people actually PROVED there were broken decks instead of "I know of this deck that is totally broken and going to ruin the metagame, but I'm not going to spoil it because I and/or the person that showed me intends to bring it to the PC ..."
Ultimately, if a deck SHOWS a card needs to be banned, then there will be enough public outrage to get it banned.
Also, don't forget they had a chance to ban Frankie post PC ... they banned Dr. Light, and not her. So it's going to take more than just stuff they "already know" to prove it to be ban worthy.
If people truly have decks that can deck on 4 and 5 and actually want to cause a banning of Frankie, then post them. It certainly worked for the last PC...

Its only a little work to fill in the blanks.
And here i thought the coolest thing to do with Nega Bomb was hit it with Unexpected Mutation.
3 slaughter swamp
2 soul world
2 un building
2 checkmate safehouse
1 31st century metropolis
4 straight to the grave
4 enemy
4 attend or die
4 negabomb
3 remnant fleet
3 sorcerer's treasure
4 cards for your win condition (pick a big guy)
this is how it works:
on turn 4: have marvel knights, secret society, kree and heralds teamed up. have 1 dagger in your discard pile. have 1 frankie in your discard pile. have 1 nenora in your hand. have 1 stranger in your hand. play attend or die.
recruit dagger from your discard pile. (1 recruit)
recruit nenora, discarding stranger. (2)
activate dagger to return her to hand.
recruit frankie from pile, discarding dagger. (3) chain stranger recur with frankie and nenora, then discard stranger for two cards.
play remnant fleet to return frankie and nenora to hand.
recruit nenora, discarding frankie. (4)
recruit dagger from KO pile. (5)
activate dagger to return her to hand.
recruit frankie from pile, discarding dagger. (6) chain stranger recur with frankie and nenora, then discard stranger for two cards.
play remnant fleet to return frankie and nenora to hand.
recruit nenora, discarding frankie. (7)
recruit dagger from KO pile. (8)
activate dagger to return her to hand.
recruit frankie from pile, discarding dagger. (9) chain stranger recur with frankie and nenora, then discard stranger for two cards.
play remnant fleet to return frankie and nenora to hand.
recruit dagger from KO pile. (10)
recruit nenora, discarding frankie. (11)
activate dagger to return her to hand.
recruit frankie from pile, discarding dagger. (12) chain stranger recur with frankie and nenora, then discard stranger for two cards.
12 recruits + 4 threshold = negabomb.
repeat as many times as you need to in order to fulfill your win condition. remnant fleet becomes less necessary with each turn and sorcerer's treasure picks up the slack where you need it.
