no, the moral of the story is that people that complain the most get the attention first, even though 2 10k's were held before PCLA and have not been paid in full, 10k Columbus (according to several here on teh boards) and 10k Orlando (because my teammate and I haven't got our checks).
guess it's time to send emails to UDE to get my money and be a jerk.
So it's okay to complain but not okay to poke fun at the complainer?
I guess I have more patience than most... I would probably be happy that I got my $40k in a time frame shorter than those before me.
You're right Tommy, I have no idea what Adam's financial situation is, but I still think it's unsportsmanlike to continually bash the company that gave him his fame and money.
And seriously, if your money problems depend on getting paid timely for playing a CCG, you should be doing something else. That's like telling someone to gamble instead of getting a job.
So the moral is if you complain about getting something late, but you did receive it, you're being unreasonable. That makes perfect sense and isn't idiotic at all.
He complained that he didn't get it yet.
Then he got it.
Then he continued to complain about it afterwards.
Complaining BEFORE you get it: Might get it to you faster.
Complaining AFTER you get it: Pointless ... especially if you are 'quitting' and thus won't be getting paid again in the future.
In this world time is money. Whether you want to acknowledge it or not. $40,000 could easily turn a $400 profit if invested reasonable over a 4 week period. Would you care if someone took $400 out of your pocket? I would.
I know it's hard to complain when you are receiving a $40,000 check for playing a card game well but... you'd prolly complain too if you didn't receive it in what you thought was a timely manner.
"Officer, I WAS driving recklessly, but now I've stopped, so what's the point of arresting me?"
"Officer, I STOPPED resisting arrest, can you please stop beating me?"
Look, I can come up with a condescending response as well, huzzah.
Or how about:
"Officer, yes my wife was driving recklessly, why are you at our house yelling at me and my children while my wife is at work and MAY be coming home, but we don't know when."
Also, are there a statute of limitations for complaints? Or once you are wronged you are allowed to harp on it for the REST OF YOUR LIFE?
I'm being a little dramatic [but then again, comparing a late payment with reckless endangerment is also a 'little dramatic', especially when someone that is being arrested for such is going IMMEDIATELY back onto the road, where as someone that just made a late payment is going to go right back to what ... not paying on time?]. He has the right to complain. To UDE. If he wants to voice his opinion on a PUBLIC FORUM ... then other people can also voice their opinions. And those opinions can include that the guy is sounding like a jerk. How many OTHER people were complaining about their cheques? How many previous PC winners were complaining about their cheques at the time? How long did other PC winners have to wait to get their cheques? How many PC winners complained about the lateness of their cheques when they both ALREADY GOT THEM and HAD ANNOUNCED THEY WERE QUITTING THE GAME.

I see you more as someone who's much better at being condescending by accident than on purpose.

There comes a time to let old wrongs go. Whether that time is within five minutes of the wrong finally being addressed really depends on your plans for canonization.
Tell ya what, if Prozak is still complaining at the same rate in two weeks, I'll tell him to shut up myself.

I wasn't morally equating the two. Only an idiot would. I WAS however addressing your argument that there is no point to complaining about something after it's over. As in, our entire criminal system is based on it. Clearly, there's something to it.

. . . and the important thing was that there was an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time.
The only comparable check I ever got was an insurance pay out and that took 5-6 months (from the time the claim was accepted, not submitted) to arrive and then 2 weeks for the bank to verify it's source before they'd give it too me.
I think the average 2-3 month time frame of UDE's PC check delivery is pretty ####ing fair. A year is ridiculous.
And as much as I wanna agree with you Walter, complaining about lateness, if justified (I.E. not in Adam's case, in my opinion), for things like being paid or getting something you paid for is the correct measure to try and prevent lateness in the future. It's a perfectly valid argument to be made against #####ing whiners who still want the 50K schedule last week though.

And when you've paid your debt to society, they stop punishing you ...
Certainly, your slate isn't wiped clean, but that isn't punishment but keeping track. Certainly, making sure that it doesn't happen again the next time is a good thing. But that's not continuously pestering the person about the issue.
When you pay off your debt, collector's can't keep sending you mail about how you were late paying. They may not give you another loan ... but they can't keep harassing you about it.
where do bad threads go when they die?
they don't go to heaven where the angels fly
they go down to the lake of fire and fry
won't see 'em again till the fourth of july
