the 'official' time for VS Hobby League is 8 P.M., but it can start as late as 9:30 if we're waiting for someone who told us beforehand to wait for him. Saturday is hang-out time for most of the crowd there, and people stay until 1 A.M. and beyond, so there's really no pressure if you're worried about being late. some peeps are there as early as 7 P.M., too.

on the other hand, if you have somewhere else to go after HL and you wanna start early, we can accomodate you and start as soon as we have 4 warm bodies that play VS (hopefully 8 PM) :p

i'll PM you some contact nos., just in case you need to ask something or tell us you'll be late :).

Just finished trading forth 4th giftwrapped.

Gotta say, the scene here is much better than I'd anticipated. I had a blast last night, and will definitely be back. Too bad I work during the week.....;(

daemyann, actually, its not even as good as it used to be. i remember back during the Avengers sneak peak that started at 10am and we easily filled 6 pods within the first 2 hours. when i attended the MTU sneak peak in feb before i left i got there 10:30 and i was on the third pod and we didn't fill in the 16 people until it was past 12nn

PCQs get upwards of 50 people

but i haven't been active the last year and a half. i think it was november 2005 when i last attended a pcq and then the next event was the MTU sneak. but i know while there are still a lot of people playing, there used to be even more

I think just about everyone felt the impact of losing the PCQ money, but a lot of players are starting to realize that it's actually a better game than most...hence they're slowly trickling back in. The diversity of VS is rediculously good. From simple aggro, to mind bending combo. There's somethig for everyone, but it takes a lot to get into....

Anyway....would you guys be interested in holding a pcq-ish kind od tourney while I'm here?...maybe set an entrance fee of 500p?...maybe more.....cash prize for first, swag for 2-8.......think it'd get much interest?

DAMN YOU.. get another playset of gift wrapped and ill trade for then when you get back.. i do have the JSA tins.. mint condish you want remember ? ;) ...i need them for heralds/spidey and its done.

bring this up with the guys, maybe they'll agree to something like this. personally, i wouldn't mind a setup like this, hehehe.

although to be honest, some players may find P500 to be too expensive, since they were used to the P200 entrance fee for the PCQs before.

As for the tourny, I only mentioned p500 as a starting point. I'm not sure how much swag we could get if we only did 200p......assuming we had 10 players, thats 2000p split for a cash prize as well as swag.....which wouldn't be much....how much are individual packs here? 160p? I'll have to ask and see i guess.

The loss of the PCQs had very little to do with the decline of the scene here. The scene was killed because UDE was late to deliver PCQ prizes, was late to release Crisis, was late to release MTU, and was so late to release MHG that we were only able to buy MHG packs after the DLS sneak.

I would play in that.
