By all means I am not saying this is a perfect list, I personally would have added Crystal at least. And yes we all have missed with four Ahmeds and it sucks.
I wrote my first post before I read your list, Bear. You seem to have all the good search down. The only thing I see missing is Weapon of Choice, but that's GA anyway.
I bet you're right about running fewer Ahmeds in a proper CM deck.
Its not perfect cause I personally think you should have top'd the last tourney we were playing, if it weren't for Alan Scott you would have easily been there. Didn't mean to make you sad brah.

I love the idea of having ahmed in the deck. I really can't tell what in the world you are doing with the massive number of 2 drops and low amount of 3 and 4 drops, though.
Also, I think you are playing some dead cards:
Slaughter Swamp
Soul World
New Baxter Building
Lvl 12 Intellegance
Straight to the grave
I like the Ahmed take on the deck, and i definatley think it is a viable version.
I am working on a version that plays around 6x team-ups and plays very off team. All of your 4 drops are Arkham Inmates, and it only plays 2 Arkham Inmates at every drop so you can use Unusual Suspects. It is also very heavy on draw power and pumps. I think it is one of the most consistant ways to use Insanity.

Slaughter Swamp/Soul World both enable Straight to the Grave. Beyond that... with all your cards being one-ofs, discard is often very painful. Both cards mitigate this remarkable.
Straight to the Grave is just too good not to play I think, especially given how easily I can peel locations.
I agree with you completely with Level 12. NBB though is kind of iffy. I mean, I'll need to test it more, but I've never been very unhappy with it. It is a search able way to draw cards which is very powerful in tandem with Attilan.

I think building your insanity around Usual Suspects is very meeh. Usual Suspects is already a very bad card, and the fact that you can only run one of it is another strike for it.
I mean, you want your Insanity deck to be consistent, but at some point you're going to need to accept that your Insanity deck is going to be inherently inconsistent.
Subsequently, I think the power/consistency trade off for insanity should tilt in the favor of the former.
In a battle of consistency you're going to lose, so you might as well make sure you come to the fight with a bigger gun.
I also tried a heavy team-up version of Insanity but it didn't work. The issue I think with team-ups is three fold.
First, there are too many cards you want to row with insanity. Attilan, Beside Myself, Arkham Asylum, a recursion location etc, which brings us to our second point that...
...team-ups have the threat of being dead cards. When insanity, you really can't afford to have dead draws. Because you can only play one copy of everything, every choice must be the best and most flexible choice possible so that each draw can cover the most amount of bases possible.
Team-ups don't fit that criteria in my mind.
Finally, how many crucial effects really are really that team stamped? Most of the good effects only care if you control affiliation X I think. I think Arkham will generally cover enough of your bases that you don't need others.
Here is my mostly off-team list. It focuses on a few key concepts:
Characters + Character Search
Team-ups
Pumps
Other power cards
The only reason this build plays team-ups is because it is very low on Arkham characters. The most consistant way to build Insanity is probably 2 teams with team-ups, but it also lacks alot of power. In this list I'm trying to play the strongest characters on the curve. I think 4 drops have the least powerful curve in general, so all of the 4 drops except 1 will be Arkham. Most of the insanity stuff is Arkham stamped, so some teaming up will be involved, also with a small splash of Inhumans.

The biggest combo's I'm trying to abuse in Insanity are:
Beside Myself + Joker + Card Draw, focus many cards on ongoing plot twist search
Money Talks combo's, with Wenslow Schott<> Toyman and Triton to try to get major board control
Pick a Card combo's, also with Toyman and Triton to just search out whatever is best in the right situation
I also am trying to play it a bit pump heavy, so the game won't last to far into the later turns.
Why don't you team-up with Secret Soc? With cards like Sorcerer's treasure, SttG, Attend or Die and Slaughter Swamp, they are just begging for abuse. And yes, I do realizt that their characters are not great, but that is what Arkham Assylum is for.
Sorcerer's Treasure would be amazing, but Attend or Die, Swamp, and Straight to the Grave are nothing worth splashing a whole team over. I really don't think it would be worth it.
Can anybody think of other amazing 1-of characters that would work well in Insanity?
I'm a pretty big fan of Grigori Rasputin 4 drop. You can run Ilsa as a searcher for him and she also digs up ongoings. But more than that, Rasputin can take over a game with his ability.
