I want that so I can play that version. Not my "google-eyed-painted" IC Quasar.
And that Nova and Beta Ray are just about the best. He really gets the faces done properly. Thank you very much for that link.
Why he's not hired by Wizkids....it's beyond me.
I think what's often forgotten is that there's a difference between modding and sculpting.
I'm not trying to take away from Goldeeh or any other modder, because what they do is way beyond any skill I have. A good modder can make things look terrific. A modder takes parts from different existing sculpts, puts them together, and comes up with something new. In a sense, they're limited to the parts on hand and how well they can mod them.
A sculptor starts from scratch, and builds their figures from raw materials (see Vestige's work). They are only limited by their skill and imagination.
prrrretty quiet on here lately. What's everyone up to? Gaming pretty regular on Mondays and Tuesdays, anyone up for joining Jeff, KJ and myself to make if 4 players (or more?).
So glad to have requested off Nov. 21st. Crapping myself over pics of prizes in the kits.... now.

Yeah this quiet, sad and lonely thread. With no measureable excitement level here in Vegas (save mine and Dustins), we gotta asume that the old Team Vegas has no intrest in the future of Clix. If there was, I'd like to hear about it. Nows your chance to post and tell the vigillant ones how you feel. Heres your olive branch. And lets keep your tone civil this time.
I'm putting in a new backyard, dealing with kids in elementary, middle and high school, and trying to plan what I'm going to do for Halloween and Thanksgiving.
I get to surf at work, check on clix, and that's about it.
Once Hammer of Thor is released, are there any plans for a big tournament featuring those LEs and Event Dials from the official Prize Pack?
Pretty sure we'd decided on an event for it on the 21st of November. Sounds like Jeff is looking into getting his hands on a prize pack, but part of that is up to the retailer as well.

OK I finally got to talk to John at LSOM and HAMMERED out a deal for Hammer of Thor. John is rightfully concerened about keeping a dead product on the shelves. I told him I can gaurantee sealed tournaments (at least 2) with roughly 4-5 people. Any more would certianly be welcome! NECA (so far) isn't going to require venues to post the tourney results anymore. They also don't require an Envoy. I have no problem bowing out and letting John be the rules guy (he doesn't care also) He has been an envoy for Wizkids games since it's inception. Just keep in mind I know all the recent rules and he does not. So either way is fine with me.
To answer your question Charles and Dustin, LSOM has ordered 4 cases of HOT with two prize kits! This also comes with the Rag-Sur LE for every Brick purchased (in whole) at the store. So he is using HOT as a gauge for future orders. So if HOT doesn't sell well, there will be no BatB for LSOM.
I am trying to get excited about clix again but I'm just not feeling it...
Money is looking tight as I am trying to not use my credit card as much, if at all.
and MTG has found its way back into my life (since I have been playing it on a regular basis) plus they keep making awesome video games... too many habbits to support and I am trying to cut back on all of them.
I only work 2 days a week on average and Saturday is one of those and I do need the money, I might be able to push my start time to 6 (normally 5). I would probably have to leave by 4 or so.
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.

The tournament will be scheduled for the normal start time of 12:30pm. It is scheduled to go to 5:30pm. But, with 4-5 people it would expect we'd be done by 2:30-3pm.
Yeah, there are a ton of hobbies out there, I do just keep it down to clix, writing, and movies. If I had more games and video games... ugh. But Clix is so delightfully social, ya know?
I've got the 21st off, so I'll definitely be there. Are we doing a sealed release event or wha? I'd be happy to buy some packs to encourage the venue.

BOOOOOOOO! I was hoping it was all a mirage. I'll be travelling 13+ hours on the 21st, making my way to the high plains of eastern New Mexico for the week of Thanksgiving.
Maybe I'll be able to make a game if something is scheduled in December.
Well that sucks, Wintremute. As I keep trying to encourage, why not join us for pick-up games? Currently, I'm hosting...
Though I wonder if it might be a good idea to arrange weeknight play time at LSOM to try and get attention from stragglers to build playerbase...
I'd love to. However, I rarely have free time, especially during the school year. Sun night - Thur night are pretty much out. Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday are about the only chances I have. However, those days are usually booked up. That's why when we have friends over to play clix, we usually start at 7 or 8 pm, and play until late in the night (or even dawn, as the last game went).
C'est la vie. I'll get the pieces, and hopefully catch a game with you guys. Looking ahead, I don't see much free time until next year .
I actually do sculpt... or at least try to, haha. I sculpt mostly heads (mostly for all the various aliens of the Green Lantern Corps and other Corps), but have recently started sculpting from scratch. I've actually messaged the master, Vestige (who happens to be very nice and very helpful), several times for some tips. My skill level is nowhere near his, or Phoenix Force's, but hopefully I'd be half as good as them in the future.
The figures I've made from scratch (wire plus greenstuff only), off the top of my head, are Rocket Raccoon, Orange Lantern Glomulus, Red Lantern Zilius Zox, Red Lantern Dex-Star, Orange Lantern Glomulus, Green Lantern Larvox, Green Lantern Vox, Black Lantern Galius Zed, and Black Lantern Deadman. Here are pics of my Deadman, from start to finish:
Thanks for the kind words about the Quasar, Nova, and Beta Ray! I always try my best!
