Maul of America Turn 21:

Deadshot struggles, and removes a grenade from his belt. And says if I'm going to go. I taking you Freaks with me. The grenade hits the ground, Plasticman acts quickly and forms himself into a shield. There is a loud explosion, but the blast is contained by Plasticmans elastic body. Deadshot screams nooooo! Why did you stop. and with that a blast from Barda hits him in the back, and he falls to the ground then passes out.

My teams out guys, it's been a real blast. I'll be keeping tabs and when its over I will define my thoughts.

On to the story.......

Kitty saw them coming. She'd battled Deathbird before she knew that she had enough time to phase through any attack directed at her and with Sue's forcefield she'd be even harder to hit. It wasn't often that Kitty was over confident........but when it happened, no good ever came from it.

Deathbird swooped in right next to Kitty with Doc Ock in tow. Kitty started to smile as she saw Deathbird prepping her BFG.....but that's not where the attack came from. It came from her left wing completely blindsiding Shadowcat taking her out before she could even register what happened. Deathbird just had an evil smirk on her face.....she always enjoyed taking the X-men down a few pegs.

Doc Ock started to snake his arms in on Sue trying to get through her force field when Johny tossed Cyclops on the other side of him and targeted the connection ports on his back where the arms connected. As a result the arms momentarily stopped functioning and dropped lifeless to the ground. Betsy channeling her rage at the site of Kitty being taken out of the fight by taking out Octavious' right leg. Dropping to the ground he started to rise.

Doc Ock

"You'll pay double for that when my arms come back on line."
As he said that his arms started to move again.

"Not today Ock."
As Sue used her powers to create an invisible bat that hit the doctor at the base of the neck with enough force to knock the super-criminal out.

Betsy leaned down to make sure Doc Ock was actually out and whispered to the villain that could not hear at the moment.

"That was for Pryde."

Deathbird saw Cyclops start to raise his hands to his visor and graped his wrists. Scott looked different than she remembered but seriously, he wasn't fooling anyone with that new visor. What was it with heroes thinking different eye-where would made people mistake them for someone else?

Deathbird: "I'm not going to be fooled by your new get up Mr. Summers. What are you going to do now that you can't reach your visor to activate it? Boar me into submission?" as she taunted the seemingly helpless X-man....................

Don't want to be rules mongering, but... Unless Deathbird has outwit. Cyclops can still used ranged attacks on her (RCE, etc) because she is a flyer. You would have to base him with a non-flyer to stop his RCE. I know because in a recent tournament I tried to base punisher with Capt. Britain and thought he wouldn't be able to use his RCE. We argued and called the judge. Wouldn't you know it the judge showed me the updated rules from Wizkids and sure enough the punisher was able to use RCE on me because I flew. Thats something I will never forget, because it was in the championship game and now my strategy was ruined by the ruling.

Just an FYI.

Yep, thats right. But this Cyclops has a natural 4 damage up front anyway for 2 clicks. Unless DM gets a bad roll, its goodnight Deathbird.

Bit of a rushed move, run out of time this week.

Good catch on the rule Eagletsi. It always sucks when a misunderstanding of rules affects a game(either an individual player of a venue as a whole). Sorry to hear that it happend to you. But Glorifindel is correct, Cyclops does 4 datural damage right now and will actually bypass the ESD by using a close combat attack.(If I were so inclined to do that. )

My story reference was from the early issues of Ultimate X-men where a Sentenel grabs Scott in one hand pinning his arms to his side. He had a solution and I will be stealing it like a marble rye.

And thank you Glorfindel for pointing out that I need an easy roll...........I'm not exactly sure that the dice roller has stopped being mean to me yet.

Sorry, I haven't really looked at the Ultimate Cyclops that much. I'm just assumed he was like the other Cyclops with some minor additions. Natural 4 damage up front. Maybe I should take a look at him again.
