Dr. Mid-Nite! (So why wasn't the bad guy called Dr. Lite?)
You got it. It was the good Dr Mid-Nite himself.
The thread is yours, Dr CuCr (I presume).
(and he was Dr Light cause he was less filling and no one wanted to find out if he tastes great).
Star Sapphire is indeed one, but neither Doctor Light nor the Shark are the other.
Doctor Light doesn't count because I meant a villain who primarily fought the Silver-Age Green Lantern.
There may have been a Golden-Age DC Villain called the Shark, but if so I'm not aware of it; I'm thinking of another one. A one-shot 1940s villain, whose one 1940s appearance was reprinted once in the 1970s and once again earlier this decade.
I looked after I answered, and there was indeed a Batman villain named the Shark, appears a few times.
If you mean the member of the Terrible Trio (the Fox, the Shark, and the Vulture), he first appeared in the late 50s and I don't consider that Golden Age. If there's another Shark you can cite, I'll accept it.
(I looked too and I found a Tiger Shark, a King Shark, a Killer Shark, and a Shark With a Human Brain, but no plain Shark.)

That's the wrong Dr Light. We speak of the Golden Age one. Short fat bald guy. Looked like Lex Luthor's little brother... except Lex back then had a head of hair.
