Today's Clutch album to listen to for the 1st time is...Psychic Warfare.

Any predictions on which songs I'll like? I'll check back in here after I listen to it.

One of my favorite old school C! songs Passive Restraints by Clutch with Randy from Lamb of God.

No idea. I have heard all of Clutch's music when I used to be able to have game time with friends. It was a mix of all of their songs and I never learned their albums.

The thing about Clutch is that they are a solid band with good to great songs all around. The only problem is that there are few that just stick out as a perennial favorite due to listening in a mix while playing games. Now, when I am listening to music it is while I am working.

Come to think of it I feel like I don't have time to really focus on listening to music except when I am driving. Since covid, there has been little reason to drive places.

When do you guys take the time to really listen to music?

I'm a fan of a Quick Death in Texas, Decapitation Blues and X-Ray Visions (which you are not fond of, do to horoscopes).

For me, it's new music mainly at work. If something sticks out while I'm working, I think that it must be pretty good.

At home I spend time (some evenings and some on the weekend) researching music, how it's made, the structure, the melody, etc, so I can try to improve my song writing.

So we only took one day off of work as teachers, but the students are out through the end of the month, at least.
Without consulting any teachers at all, about any of this, our illustrious yes-man Principal decided that conducting live video meets or pre-recorded video classes every day, for every class, would be a great way to go. And in order to ensure outstanding morale and attendance, every singe class every day would also have an assignment. So between planning, preparing, recording, posting and linking, creating an assignment, and then grading said assignments, along with doing attendance daily based on those assignments' completion, we are easily twice as busy as we ever were before.

Would not be so bad, except that we had a plan for school going remote again, and it was completely thrown out with no consultation. Yay.

We have been remote since the first day of school. Minimum teachers are working at least 20 hours beyond their duty day (8:30 - 4). Keep in mind that our work week with M-F full days 9-3:15 with students and all Wednesdays have been an early release day (9 - 11:45) and we are still putting in a ton more extra hours. People have been feeling burnt out for a long time unfortunately.


I thought of something we could do as our weekly thing. Every week find 1 thing on youtube that hits you right in the nostalgia. Share the link and a little write up about why you chose it. That way it could be music, a trailer, comedy routine, or anything visual you want to find.

Mull it over.
