Next week, Thursday the 4th of March - Ersatz Comic-Accurate!
400 point constructed tournament; four actions per turn.
Retirement is not in effect.
Two rounds, two battlefield conditions.
Your team must be comic accurate, but use alternate-universe versions or substitutes of the actual characters.
Any Questions?
Could I suggest no pastiche versions of the characters?
ie No making an Avengers team, and stating that it's an alternate version of the 'Champions of Angor / Justifiers'. No Squadron Supreme / JLA teams. Etc, etc.
But that's just my thoughts to make it a bit more challenging.
Yeah Im not overly fussed by people taking the soft option. Brendan played some squad supreme figs last time as I recall. Champions of Angkor are definitely weaksauce, but I wouldn't turn someone down (I'll have to look up which avengers were copied to CoA now just in case)
To be fair I'm skirting the edges with my ideas-
PM&IF as a stand in for Grace and Thunder (big bruiser and smaller more acrobatic partner with energy crackles around fists) as part of an Outsiders team. Although I may end up going somewhere else.
And of course theres the team I built but didn't play last time-
teenage mutant ninja skrullos.
Coming in first tonight was myself, with the "DC Trinity" of Superman (Wonder Man), Wonder Woman (human Ms. Marvel), and Batman (Captain America).

Having said that, I don't expect it to do great either, but it should be ok 8)
And then you came second.
Next week, Thursday the 11th of March - In Contact With Moon Knight!
300 point constructed tournament; three actions per turn.
Retirement is not in effect.
Two rounds, two battlefield conditions.
In addition to your 300 point force, you must also bring an additional character of up to 27 points (your "Oracle"). This character does not count towards your 300 point build, but is considered part of your force (including thematic team purposes). At the beginning of the game, place your "Oracle" to one side of the map.
At the beginning of any of your turns, you may assign a power action to any friendly character and turn your "Oracle's" dial to any click. The character given the action may use any power showing on your "Oracle's" dial until any friendly character is given a power action to turn your "Oracle's" dial.
Any Questions?
Prize Support: LE #105: Thor the Reigning, some LEs/uniques, and cracked boosters ($5 contribution from each player to cover booster costs).

Furthermore, if you want to use a character who lacks a non-generic keyword that he should have for comic-accuracy purposes, you can PM the judge (Mr_Nobody) for permission to use that character on a non-generic team. You need to get the judge's written assent before the tournament date.
(A good example would be Gamora on a Guardians of the Galaxy team, or veteran Cyborg Superman as Sinestro Corps.)
That's a damn good question.
I have no idea.
chalk one up to forgetfulness I suppose.
(rushes off to start a complaint thread about shonky judges)
'Dear HCRealms,
Last night our judge "forgot" the official prize support, how convenient! Sure, I can just print it out anyway because it was a card, and sure, I would have taken the same figure instead of the card anyway, and sure this judge continues to run outstanding and interesting games, while he and another player add in figures from their own stock to make sure everyone has a chance to get decent stuff, but come on?
He "forgot"?? A likely story!
Yours in whinginess,
A disgruntled player.'
Should I throw in some veiled threats of physical violence just to be a proper complaint thread?
You gotta have something there about how he insulted your honor. Then some dude can come in to stick up for you and remind us of the days when Men Were Men and tell us how he wins every game using his comic-accurate Iron Man teams.
Coming in first tonight was M.O.D.O.C., with Cap'n Dave coming in second!
Next week, Thursday the 18th of March - Thor versus Thor!
500 point constructed tournament; five actions per turn.
Retirement is not in effect.
Two rounds, two battlefield conditions.
Your force must include one version of Thor.
Before the first turn, compare the point value of your Thor with your opponent's Thor:
The higher point-value Thor is considered the True Thor, and has the Immortal Contempt feat for free.
The lower point-value Thor is considered the Clone Thor, and has the Vendetta feat for free.
If both Thors have the same point value, then the True Thor is controlled by player one, and player two may still choose the True Thor as Clone Thor's Vendetta target.
Any Questions?
Prize Support: Feat #103: Runaways, some LEs/uniques, and cracked boosters ($5 contribution from each player to cover booster costs).
Immortal Contempt Prerequisites: Deity keyword.
Choose a character. The character modifies its attack value by +1 when attacking a character without the Deity or Cosmic keyword that has a point value less than its own.
Vendetta Prerequisites: , and
Choose a character.
At the beginning of your first turn, choose an opposing character with a point value greater than this character. Modify the attack value of this character by +1 when it is making close or ranged combat attack against the chosen character. If this character defeats the chosen character, you score additional victory points equal to half the chosen character's point value. If the chosen character defeats this character, the chosen character's controller scores additional victory points equal to half this character's point value.

Had a look in there once before, so should be able to find it again... just more want to know, if there are any house rules etc that I'll need to consider before hand.
