Wow! Congrats on walking out with MORE cash than originally anticipated! Nothing wrong with that at all.
Did the items you all brought to express yourselves actually get used in the conversation?
Sorry I haven't been around much today. We've had no internet. As it is, this is a pirated signal from a neighbor that decided to not secure their internet. We've been assured that our internet will be back on "Shortly."
Anyway, the items we brought with us were exactly what I figured they would be for. It was to see what our interests were and for the purposes of a beginning "Getting to know you" session.

Last night, I didn't have my clix available so I threw this team together from a kid's trade box.
30 BA024 Batgirl
43 OR023 Mano
126 OR089 Jakeem Thunder
138 AV060 Cap and Bucky
30 SM005 Seven Deadly Brothers
33 WS001 H.A.M.M.E.R. Agent
---------------------
400
I was using figures that didn't have any cards. It was a five person match and went up against some tough teams. And my wife played for the first time in months.
In the end, the same kid gave me a Fenris Wolf because he knew I was needing one.
I'd like that. I'd prefer they really get point costs under control so the game can really fit in 300 points. Thanos at 300 points? Great! He should essentially be the epitome of high point characters. It will never be perfect, but let's scale things down so you can have more than 3 characters on a 300 point team without just playing generic minions.
Yep. One thing about design, is that tha scale used to be shifting up, but now it is narrowing-- with the low end still inflated compared to early days, butthe high end coming back down. So you can weird things like a Superman who is only worth a couple of Green Arrows, or a Bullseye who is up there with Annihilius in points and power.
I think people would scream bloody murder if you made the human-level characters less than 30 points, like we saw in the early days. But if they were turned well, I'd be all for it.

In the end, it'll never be perfect. That's how we have a Nemesis or Sentinel at 400 points and Superman, Phoenix, Ganthet, Thanos, etc etc etc at more than 100 points less. We could have the same discussion about sculpt scale as well. I prefer to believe it just doesn't exist.
We just had a highly visible (yet relatively minor) flub here a couple of hours ago, which of course had to involve the CEO. I've been done with the fallout for about an hour, but I'm still coming down from it.
Some days I kinda hate my job. High stakes and visibility, relatively unimportant work. It's like we're the meat shield for the rest of IT (though in this case, it was 100% our fault).

I agree, and to be fair, even in comics power scales are all over the map. Just observing the effects that the game evolution is having.
Can you imagine a rookie speedster for 28 points today?

Don't you just love those vague terms? The cable guy will be at your home between 10-5. Really? Can't narrow it down to under a 7-hour time frame? Hope they get it fixed for you quick-like!
Nice. I'm guessing that nothing brought by participants were really unusual?
"This is my chainsaw and hockey mask," for example.
So im a bit disgruntled... I just shoipped a package to a fellow ogre. I told them it was fragile, He stamps it so. Then proceeds to throw it 15 feet into a bag..... WTF.

No, the rest of the people were kind of lame and uninspired with what they brought. One guy did have his art portfolio with him which was interesting, but everybody else was pretty much...
"This is my favorite Graphic Novel"
"This is my favorite video game"
"This is my notepad where I write down all of my ideas"
"I like this movie"
Unfortunately we had one of THOSE guys that had the philosophy of "Batman is the end all and be all of comic books and you are wrong if you don't like him. Batman is the answer to every argument."
If you like Batman, that is all well and good, but seriously...experience something ELSE in life.
