Saw Expendables 2 last night. Enjoyed it. Didn't try to be anything it wasn't. It gave a nod to the A-Team, there was catch-phrase theft a-plenty, and even a great Norris joke. The violence was a bit over the top (like Rambo 4 type) but it was exactly what I expected from it. If you like these kinds of movies, this one is for you.

Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.
Moonrise Kingdom.
The best movie I saw in a long, long time.
The only thing that could have made it better would have been if I had had somebody to share the experience with.
Oh, and if my Dad hadn't called me while I was in the movie theatre.
I totally second the love for Moonrise Kingdom, it is wonderful. Another one I saw recently that blew me away was Safety Not Guaranteed it is one of those wonderful quirky movies that deserve a much bigger audience.

I may have mentioned both a while back, but agree with both.
Seeing Moonrise Kingdom is definitely an experience that ends with you being in love with the person you see it with... so choose wisely!

Saw a lot of movies recently, these are the last three:
Battle Royale - Japanese Hunger Games basically, though much more satirical. Pretty sweet and ridiculous over the top violence and gore.
Another Earth - Recent 'sci-fi' movie that postulates what it would be like to meet ourselves, though the sci-fi element is more just there to serve as the mechanism for the a drama/love story. It's not bad, but don't expect a real special effect laden sci fi flisk.
Mad Max - Always wanted to watch it and finally did. I don't even know to say. Australian Cinema is a little different than ours lol. Now I can watch the sequels though.

Battle Royale came out 12 years ago. It is in no way the Japanese Hunger games. The Hunger games is the American Battle Royale.
I just watched Child's Play - awesome horror film from the 80s. I never get tired of watching them.

Oh yeah, I know. I was just trying to give a description for people who haven't seen it. The tone and the point of the movie is completely different too. Just the general setting and idea is the same.
Did you see the sequel? Is it any good?

Yeah, great films, though the last couple got a little too ridiculous. Less horror and more comedy, but enjoyable if you watch them as such.
