Amazon put up Orphan Black season 1 as free to watch today, which sort of sucks because I'm not going to have enough time to watch all of it, supposed to be playing L5R tonight. I asked them on twitter to extend it for the whole weekend but no reply. Think they want it like this so people who want to finish either buy the whole season or buy the rest of the episodes they have left to watch.

If you have cable, the station IFC (Comcast channel 164) is having a marathon of Orphan Black starting at midnight. (Season 1 and 2)

I have cable but not that channel :-/ only cable company here is a local one called GCI. So we don't get a lot of the channels other people get :-/

Last weekend I had a project passed on to me from a local legend of a guy. He is getting older and has a ton of other projects going on, in addition to having a private museum that puts most historical collections to shame.

Its a couple hundred hand written pages of the Civil War Journal of a soldier in this
unit, who started as a private and ended up as a Company 1st Sergeant. Norm (the guy I got it from), got it 50+ years ago from some old family friend. This guy who wrote it was wounded near fatally once, less severely a couple other times, and was a survivor of dozens of battles or skirmishes, to include Gettysburg's Little Round Top.

Not sure how I am going to find time to get that done this year, what with everything else I have going on Army wise, work wise, new baby, house projects, etc, but it deserves some attempt at getting it into a historical journal or small press run.



Ahh #### it, time to read some comics instead.

If you are interested in that stuff I think you would like the archives at the UAA library. They get all these writings donated all the time and there are so many that they have issues keeping up with cataloging it all. I had a class in Historiography and our final paper was taking one of them and catalog them. I got the notes and letters from a guy in the military working up here building a road. Was more interesting than it sounds like.
