"Time to finish you off," Hawkeye whispered, taargeting Supergirl. Suddenly, unexpectedly his bowstring snapped. The sudden lack of resistance caused him to over balance and fall.

"You're just lucky the Black Widow wasn't awake to see that," Thor chided him. He flung his hammer at Brainiac 5. Brainiac ducked, so that the hammer only dealt a glancing blow to his force field. Thor cursed in fluent Norwegian.

Wow, this game is not going as I expected. I can see it now, the final winner is the Legion!!!

Once again Saturn Girl grips the mind of Hawkeye. He raises his bow and gets ready to attack Thor.

"Hawkeye, no!!! You have to fight this or you'll be under her thrall for the whole fight!" yells Thor.

"You should worry about yourself, Thor," Saturn Girl says, "I've seen some pretty bizarre things in that head of yours, right "Thunder God"?"

Suddenly an arrow passes near Saturn Girl, nowhere near hitting her more as a sign that Hawkeye is back.

"OK honey, guess you need a new puppet" he says.

"I don't know," Saturn Girl answers, "I quite enjoy the one I'm been playing with."

Hate to push, but Brainiac's Outwit cannot stay. THor goes for him again, AV9 on DV16, needs a 7. Gets a 4, takes a click. Wotta revoltin' development.

Hawkeye's arrow exploded on impact. The already shaken Supergirl staggered for a moment, then finally fell.

"YES!" Hawkeye shouted. "Who da man? I da man! Whoop, whoop, whoop..."

"Nice job Hawk, but don't celebrate yet. We've still got two Legionnaires ready for battle."

"This is too easy," says Saturn Girl, "Controlling Hawkeye's mind." Sure enough she again takes over his mind and he again hurts Thor with an electrical arrow.

Brainiac 5 talks to her through the telepathic link they share. "Great, Imra, we're getting the Ultimates to do most of our work for us. My analysis is that both men are extremely weakened so if our luck holds out we might be able to win this. Weak as they are, however, they are even more dangerous now. We need to be cautious."

I'm almost hoping you manage to pull this off. It'd be a story for the ages. So once again, Thor attacks Brainiac, AV11 against DV16, needs a 5. Gets a 7. Brainiac takes 4 after his Toughness. He's all but out.

Hawkeye will push to attack Saturn Girl, AV8 against DV14 +1, needs a 7. Gets a 6. Dang. But he's KO'd anyway. No more using him against me!

OK here goes:

Saturn Girl will perplex Brainy's damage to 2. He attacks Thor, needs a 7, rolls 8. I don't believe it. The Legion won!

Not what I expected at all. Too bad, I was hoping to play Ultimates in this game again. The Ultimates still have a shot for the wild card though. My question is, when tallying the Ultimates points, does Brainiac 5's points count towards them since this last move was a push that would ko him?

Brainiac 5 took a calculated risk. He moved right up to Thor.

"Do you have a death wish, boy?" Thor chuckled, obviously weakened.

"I hope not" Brainiac 5 mutters, almost to himself.

Thor's hammer predictably comes down on Brainiac 5. As it presses down about mid-way it bounces back and takes out a very shocked Thor.

"I don't believe it," Saturn Girl yells, running up to Brainiac 5, "What did you do?"

"Inverted my force field to surround him. If he'd been a bit stronger he'd have plowed right through it...and me. Plus his hit might not have taken himself out!"

"Good job, Brainy, We won!" she says and starts hugging him. Brainiac 5 is so weary that he collapes in her hug.

His last words before unconsciousness are, "I always had faith in the legion...I always did.."

She smiles, "Me too, Brainy" and softly lays him down.
