I get tired of Hair's seemingly constant cheap shots at WK.
This isn't one of those.
For a hundred clams, I would damn well expect my Watchmen set to not only be in perfect condition but to sing me to sleep at night.
Nice tag for this thread "sense of entitlement". Because Hair IS entitled to to buy an unbroken set of Watchmen. He paid the money, WK failed to deliver adequate product. It's no different than if you buy a box of Raisin Bran that lacks the raisins. You are entitled to raisins when you pay the money for that box. Hair10 IS entitled to BOTH of Silk Spectre's arms when he bought THAT box.
Sadly, Hair, your best bet to get WK's attention probably is exactly what you've done: post here.
I have to wonder if part of the reason people jumped on hair10 was because of the title of the thread as much as the content. A simple, descriptive title, such as "Silk Spectre Missing Arm" wouldn't have come off with the snarky attitude of "Who Watches the Watchmen? Apparently Nobody." One of those sounds like you're trying to bring attention to a problem with a product, and one of them sounds like you're trying to pick a fight. Keep in mind that this is the internet, and a lot of people will base their opinion of a thread simply on the title without reading any of the content.

WK/Neca has listened to the Realms in the past, and not everytime I agreed they should have. This time is NOT one of those times. For $100, WK has made claims of going "Over the top" on sculpts, so they should have done the same for quality as well. Unless a replacement policy is adopted to remedy this, I don't see WK producing another set of this magnitude.
Maybe WK will eventually replace the figs and also include that Watchmen map featuring Dr. Manhattan on Mars that was floating around....
Take the set back to the retailer. It's broken, so ask for a refund or a replacement.
Retailer sends it back up through the chain and eventually that one broken figure ends up in WK losing its income for the entire set.
That'll get their attention.

I would agree with this.
Posting here garners my sympathy and perhaps a witty comment.
But I highly doubt that this is anywhere near WK Radar.
Although Hair pre-ordered online so I dont know what the pre-order policy is.
But personally if they dont take it back I wouldnt preorder from them again.

And how do you propose I find out? Do you have the mythical WK customer support email address?
That and no approved play really is putting a restraining belt on the game. This game did it's best when you could go down to your local shop and have a reliable tourney schedule with prize support. It ain't about the prize support in the end, but free stuff always turns heads.
Since this isn't a blind booster, it should be no different than buying a defective set of anything from your LCS. Return it to the retailer and get another one.
BINGO!
Go to your retailer.
I've had problems with a couple items, emailed my Alliance rep, and replacements were obtained.
I'd like to see a policy for blind booster items too, but I'm personally pretty happy with Wizkids these days.
I also opened a bunch of Watchmen sets and they've all been perfect, so perhaps it's just been a good day.

No major issues, here. LOTS of stickers I had to peel 'n' seal to realign (like most of the box). My Larry and Mike pretty much shattered at the touch (microphone thing came undone from the leg, and Mike's two feet came off the base; a touch of glue later, some time to set, and voila, fixed). I had to have a friend carefully shave off a random stabby pointy piece of plastic from the side of the dial on Nite Owl and Rorschach because it wasn't going to turn, no way, no how.
And Silk Spectre I has her name spelled wrong on the back of her card. In quotes and bold text is the word "Jupter" without an "i." Sad.

So there's no "Approved Play" like there used to be. So what?
There ARE still prizes - You're venue just has to go to the effort of getting them.
As in they have to order x amount of product, they have to do so by x date, they have to specifically order the prize kit & pay for it.
The cost of this prize kit may/may not end up being passed along to the players (sure, it says not for re-sale. But there's nothing wrong with charging an entry fee to a tourny).
There's nothing unreasonable about this set up.
As for a reliable tourny schedule?
What the heck is wrong with the people you play with? How hard is it to decide upon a standing schedule? How hard is it to take a few minutes and decide on a format, pt total, etc??
Jeesh, for people who memorize thousands of dials you'd think it'd be easy enough to remember wether or not you're playing come next week....

So, if it's not about the prizes, why are you worried about a reliable tourny schedule with prize support?
Is it not enough to simply gather with your friends (or at least others who enjoy the same thing you do) & play the game?
Oh, wait, I bet it's the part about it being free stuff. Right?
Now that your prizes cost someone other than WK $ it's.... different.

I can't speak for anyone else.
For me, there's a huge difference in approved play because of the website.
In the old days, you could search all over your local area, find venues, find tournaments, find players and find out all kinds of information about all of the above.
Hell, if you were traveling on business to a different city and had the opportunity to play, you could be prepped and ready for the tournament before the wheels left the tarmac!
Now, you would need to be on a site like this and find the right thread (no way to really search by area) or call around to local stores and ask if they have Clix in the first place, and then, if they have tournaments. And then find out when they are.
If you're really lucky, your local store has a website, it actually has times, dates, and descriptions, and it's actually accurate.
I love the store that I play at. They even have a website.
But, to be totally honest, if you contacted them through the site or even called them, their response would be "Uh, some guys have a pretty regular thing going on on Friday nights, I think."

That's a far cry from what it used to be.
i would have to agree with everything you just said!!! before it was easy to look up places you usually don't go to. say you are on vacation or you just moved it was easy to find places around and they hall all the info you could ever want about the places, did they charge to play? what point totals, what times, what days, what special rules were there, what special scenarios were they using this week, how many people actually play there, where exactly is this place??? all those question could be answered in just a couple o clicks...literally only a couple. now days you are lucky if the local comic shops have a sign in the window saying hey we play heroclixs here! and you are SUPER lucky if one of the players are there to answer all those questions kuz i would say about 75% of the employees and owners don't know all those answers
