Correct except for nml clay face cause he can't be ignored for movement and skitter from teen titans does not allow you use ignore,etc.... cause of her speed power if you are adjacent to her. My question is for skitter does her speed power only work if the opposing was beside her at the start or will it work even if they base her or try to run past her.
I'd say if they are adjacent they can't use ignore characters. Shouldn't matter if they began the action adjacent or moved there during the action. Once they're there, she shuts down the Ignore.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
“No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style.”
They ignore characters. They have never BEEN "locked down". They don't roll break away because they IGNORE the character. When the character moved adjacent, it treated the adjacent character as a blank square. Now if you've outwitted the power, then obviously they must roll. But since my SoG Black Canary NEVER considered you as a character to begin with, she never has to roll.
I think a valid point to consider is that there are specific action types in clix. Free action, Move action, Power action, Close combat action, Ranged combat action. (double power action, epic action, yada yada yada)
You know what I notice? There's no "Break Away" action.
That's a move action.

Reason: Original post was too trolly
1. How far did you have to dig in the forum to find this 6-month old thread that had already been resolved, just to take a random potshot at Dragoon?
2. Why in hell did you?
I normally wouldn't reply...but all of your other posts seem to be purely about the game, game mechanics and play. So you're no troll. And I'd like to think I'm not. But that's up to who ever is reading, and the intent of the writer. Let's edify!
1= Google search on the specific question. Type in improved movement break away, and this thread will be in your top results.
2= It felt organic. Drag has all these posts about a nuanced element of the game, but doesn't have a grasp on something as basic as flight? And the first reply to the OP was a judge no less!
Your call if those are reasons or excuses. And if it's reasonable or inexcusable. I've never really "forumed" before. But I've heard of this "internet" and as a result, of "trolls" and would rather not set myself up as one...Any way, I'm being needlessly loquacious, and this isn't relevant to the thread I'm posting it in.
Move to pms if you like. I've edited out the potshottery in my original reply.

So... are you trying to say that you do not need to break away if you use Charge or Running shot? After all, they are power actions and not move actions...
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
You do need to break away when using Charge or Running shot

Nah. Not at all. I didn't see where you would infer that from until I re-read the post in question. And I see your interpretation now.
The PAC says give them a power action, then move them (half value). Your power action leads to a move, and break away applies normally to any and all movement. Where applicable. There are break away rolls,( in movement and movement actions and free action moves like sidestep, and power actions that activate a movement.) but there is no "break away action".
Now you've got me curious: If a character using Charge or RS rolls to break away, and fails, is that 0 squares of movement enough to get you to the close/ranged combat (for sharpshooters) action portion of the power?
*edited in* Hm..page 8 of the Book seems to say no..."On a result of 3 or less, that character fails to break away and can't move; resolve the action /immediately/, including assigning that character any action tokens for that action"

Page 8 of the rulebook is correct. The answer is no.
I've been out of clix for a while, (as in, got in on Infinity Challenge, lost interest around the time Galactus was first minted, SDR&R, y'know)
But I'm back into it hard, and my local venue has prize support, but hasn't built up a community. Point of this post is: I'd love to be a judge, so I'm trying to re learn the ropes...which includes cold interpretations of the letter of the law, as well as developing a bedside manner that will keep it fun and legit for my wards.
You know, not being trolly, or mean, but still keeping a firm handle on the mechanics..This game is so open to misinterpretation..On Saturday I played a guy who thought lof could pass through friendlies squares unhindered (/without/ IT Ignore characters). And each time out, it seems like there's a different player with a different take...all, (me too) have moments where we've been there. Same opponent taught me how moving through water/contiguous border hindering works after years of me having misinterpreted and thus, misplayed, that mechanic.
I'm way off topic here, and hoping this will be my last post to this thread...I'll look for a General discussion thread that's in line with the above desires I've articulated.
And for the record, I'm Toronto based (and trying to start a GTA group here) and welcome any and all players to come to Kensington and the Comic Pile (plug!) for regularly scheduled all Saturday Heroclix events.
I can't seem to find a GTA (greater Toronto area/Toronto) group established here..Is making a group a privilege earned over time, or is my noob showing?
Thanks for your help!
