You guys are improving, I'll give you that.
Huh?? What are you smokin' over there. Of course, we don't know his whole dial. But based on what they are telling us, this guy stinks.
9 ATT on a 240 pt mech!
6 move that drops to 4. Peasants are faster than this loser.
And a sub par heat dial. The CA mechs would own this dude.
I don't think we have any more time for improvement. MWDA's hooneymoon is over. This game will be lucky to survive this next expansion.
I'll correct that because meant Janis and not Angus. Still there are probably 12 units, not counting arty for the SC that have better than 12 inch range. And when you have Hauberk BA with more range then your tanks? heh, yeah. 4/14 is right up my alley for infantry.
While I understand the disappointment over what has been announced of this unit, getting a lemon unique ever so often isnt an uncommon thing at all in this game. Maybe the pilot is a rating 5/5 reservist or something. But they do have a point. Highlander Warhammer with Camo, high damage energy attack, etc... with a low attack SC Warhammer with heavy armor and such? Hey, I'm not complaining about the Highlanders getting a playable mech (God knows that we've been on the ####ty end of the switched shoulda-been-faction stick many times before)... but yeah, it doesnt make much sense.
Yeah, I guess I'll have to say for the nth time that the older SC units are a not better than Monic. But I kinda figured that we can't always expect to get a better mech with every expansion. If that would be the case, every new expansion would make our previous hard-earned units somehow obsolete. I've always wanted the older units to retain their awe even with the newer expansions to come.
Just imagine the day when the almighty Atlas is reduced to a shelf piece when 12 attacks and 16 ranges become staple fare for the new mechs.
im kinda ammused that everyone calling this mech a lemon so quickly.. look at the tendancy of theFP LE's.. look hard espacilly at Rob and the other SC mech that we already got to see.. Notice anything kinda... funny there? most likely thats what we will see with this warhammer IIC. im almost going to shot for a secondary of 14 inches that ballistic and shoots 4-5 damage before she loses pules then does a 3 AP or AnP with IT for a few clicks.. Just my guessing but i think everyone's jumping the gun WAY to quickly here.. lets let the set come out andsee all teh stats for it before calling it a lemon..

sorry... typo :)
I'm with you. Janis, Blackhawks, Clan BA, Hoverbikes... staples in my armies. I'll hate the day that I can't use Mikel anymore... since he fills that sorely needed 14 inch AP spot that the Spirit Cats lack. I can't see using Monic since I have Declan though. I would like to see what kind of repair markers that Monic has though, and his secondary weapon before I judge.
And I want him none the less, he's SC. Suck or not :)
I'm glad the HL's got some decent mechs though, is it their turn to get something cool. As long as each faction gets a turn at being the winner of the expansion, it's all good.
On a side note, anyone see the BR Lego being JF's worst nightmare?

Go back and re-read the description. It has no other SEs anywhere on the dial. Sure the secondary could be a 0-14" ballistic for 5 damage. The defense could be 23 for 4 or 5 clicks. However, considering the trends we've seen through CA and what we've seen of FP, I would highly doubt the defense was higher than 22 and the secondary attack will probably be an 8", 3 target, 3 damage energy attack..
It seems to me that this 'Mech is pretty similar to the other high cost SC 'Mechs.
There are 4 that cost more than 230. Let's compare: Cost:
Declan Devalis 255 (17 clicks)
Kevin Nostra 232 (16 clicks)
Angus Drummond 267 (16 clicks)
Marat Deleportas 255 (15 clicks)
They all have 4 clicks of Salvage
Attack:
The WarHammer IIC has "a steady 9 attack for the better part of five clicks."
Declan Devalis: 10 (lasts 4 clicks) to 4
Kevin Nostra: 9 (lasts 3 clicks) to 6
Angus Drummond: 10 (lasts 1 clicks) to 4
Marat Deleportas: 10 (lasts 2 clicks) to 4
After being charged by Arnis Drummond, only Declan has an attack greater than 8. His is 9.
Damage:
The WarHammer IIC has "with 4 energy damage and Pulse, with a range of 12 ... two targets ... on the initial three clicks."
Declan Devalis: 4 Pulse, 2 targets, 16" range, 4 clicks (3 Pulse for 1 more click)
Kevin Nostra: 3 Pulse, 1 target, 10" range, 4 clicks (2 Pulse for 2 more clicks, also 12" primary balistic 4 damage)
Angus Drummond: 5 Energy, 2 targets, 14" range, 3 clicks
Marat Deleportas: 6 Energy, 5 targets, 12" range, 2 clicks (also 4 damage Rapid Strike)
Speed:
The WarHammer IIC has "a mere 6 and progresses to 4."
Declan Devalis: 6 (4 clicks) to 4
Kevin Nostra: 6 (4 clicks) to 3
Angus Drummond: 8 (2 clicks) to 3 (Jump Jets for 5 clicks)
Marat Deleportas: 8 (2 clicks) to 4
Defense
The WarHammer IIC has "Heavy Armor, which extends throughout the length of the dial until the ’Mech hits Salvage."
Declan Devalis: Heavy Armor 3 clicks. 23 to 18 Def
Kevin Nostra: Heavy Armor 6 clicks. 23 to 15 Def
Angus Drummond: Heavy Armor 10 clicks. 23 to 16 Def
Marat Deleportas: Heavy Armor 5 clicks. 22 to 13 Def
Heat dial:
The WarHammer IIC has "heat effects [starting] on click three and don’t let up."
Declan Devalis: 1 Negative click 4. 1 Color click 4.
Kevin Nostra: 2 Negatives click 3. 2 Colors click 4.
Angus Drummond: 1 Negative click 3. 2 Colors click 4.
Marat Deleportas: 1 Negative click 3. 1 Color click 4.
None of their heat dials "let up."
WarHammer IIC Summary
Cost: 4th of 5
Attack: Tied for 4th for maximum Attack Value. Attack values might last longer than average.
Damage: Ranged damage potential tied for 1st. Doesn't hold his damage potential as long as others. In a three way tie for 3rd for maximum range.
Speed: In a three way tie for 3rd for maximum speed. In a three way tie for 1st for minimum speed.
None of these 'Mechs are speedsters.
Defense: Probably 1st for number clicks of Heavy Armor. Cannot compare stats.
Heat dial: 5th
Intangibles: We don't know how many clicks of life or Salvage this 'Mech has, nor do we know it's Defense values or frequency and placement of Repair Markers. We also don't know anything about how quickly it's stats fall, however, we might assume from the statement about "flat dial profiles" that this 'Mech's stats do not fall rapidly.
There are far too many things we don't know about this 'Mech to make a good evaluation. However, what we do know shows this 'Mech in a comparable light to other big Spirit Cat 'Mechs.
or maybe you guys will be a little more intelligent like sean over here. ^^
you might complain that this mech (probably) doesn't get 10 attack, but 9 for 5 clicks is rather nice. Not every other mech needs to be an assault mech killer... this thing was meant to weather assaults and still dish it out. Wade this sucker in to combat.
by the way, whats the use in complaining that we've gotten oh so many uniques for previews so far? It's all in a present order, and we've only had two official previews so far. The one for the Salvagemech was before the previews officially started, and we've had the Storm Raider/Warhammer IIC so far. Not that many, if you ask me.
