i like the black knight most personally.....i mean he has crushing blow and invuln consistently and has good values as well as counterattack 2 slots down so when he gets hurt he can hurt u back and then u dont wanna attack again for that counter. His d values and damage values are great and only the speed would make it why he gets an a-.....I think vorgoth is missing the one figure army key because he is too slow.....and he has no range. One uber figure armies usually use ranged figures wit bound or at least high movement so that if they run they can still be shot. With vorgoth...u'd waste the whole match chasing people around while they shoot him.....they are BOUND to roll a 12 once.....and besides....thats why Wizkids made objectives....so 1 super figure armies wouldnt own the competition. But I see your points and vorgoth is quite an awesome piece....just I do not forsee him snatching any matches much less any major tourney.
oh yes I forgot to mention......i asked a question bout stick horse....yeoldtwnsman....isn't the stick horse only give you ghostform and the :hspeed: when someone in base contact has coconut halves?
Originally posted by yeoldtwnsman I still think the shallow dial gets her.
Her melee damage/attack is too low to actually pose a threat. And provided I tie her up (Assuming I can roll a 3+ (70% chance)) She has no way to deal with auto damage and I can either:
A) Trample her to little tiny plastic bits.
B) Shakeoff.. owch.
Without a wing she's too open to means of instant damage because she only has a 50% chance to make the break away.
And all that can be accomplished for little tiny point values as opposed to the 123 point cost of the Oracle.
I do think she is a good piece, but too many factors lead to her demise, namely her little tiny dial.
It's VERY easy to deal 8 clicks of damage to a character that can't reduce it in one turn, especially if Rava just punches her in the face.
From Biased Orc Player Ye to Biases Solonavi Player Sigma :)
If Rava punches here then Rava is as goos as dead when she bounds. Rava will lose his bound and will then be a sitting duck. Daheia's lowest defense is a 17 and she will always have terrify. Her biggest threat is Tazia, not Rava.
I got to use Daheia today. She rocked. With Mind of the Magus she gets Arc Lightning and Palm Lightning with a savings of 2 pages. Put that in the Codex of Light and she has 12 more pages for nastiness. However, do not push her after she loses Bound. I found that out the hard way. :)
I was borrowing Pierce and using it with Arc Lightning. Add in Life Drain and she's brutal. She's also an extremely competent counterspeller until her last click of life.

That was my game for you, Gunny. Sorry I lost. :p
Hey, its the thought that counts :) Thanks and sorry I couldn't make it today. :( glad you guys had a good time. At least you played with one of the two figs I was hoping to get if I had gone... the other was *** magna champion. :D
Unless you were at a prerelease with 15+ people and saw some of these figures in action I'd take these Reviews as a grain of salt.
I, personally think all of your grades are way too high.
And a few are just plain ridiculous.
Malava gets a B and Black Knight gets an A?
Black Knight can not even stand up to ANY unique in its point class. Black Knight is a generic design that already exists on figures with a 10+ movement. Why, for the love of god, would anyone play Black Knight over Chroma or Caldera?
There is no reason.
Malava gets an A.
There is no figure like her for her point cost.
I saw her dominate in the prerelease.
Because of her incredible effeciency.
I agree, The Black Knight is underwhelming for his points, and definitely not worth being an ultra rare. Though Malava on the other hand, is a piece to be reckoned with, her mods is amazing for the cost. The only unit at that cost to have 4 ranged damage. Plus regeneration and terrify.
Compare the black knight with general volkare. They are quite similar, but TBS costs double the value of volkare for just tiny bits of improvements. Definitely doesnt cut it.
Not sure if I had seen this mentioned anywhere as another viable option with the new Mage Spawn pieces, but in larger games, Deathspeaker Aeradon will be able to Summon those guys back. Can you imagine bringing any of those buggers back for a second, or third round of combat? Vorgoth could really prove his worth at 200 points then.
Yes, but thats already over 400pts for 2 figures. May very well climb over 500 for relics and items to put on them. And 500 pts is a LOT of your force in a 1200 pts game for just 2 figs. And ill say you are doing something wrong if Vorgoth keeps getting offed to warrant resummoning.
Amara is really nasty if you drop a psychic reflaction on him and malficius will own if you put scrying stone on him, these two I think got far too low of grades, figs in them selves no longer truely matter, the relics and spells are how the game is won.
yeah, but anyone is nasty w/psychic reflection and the scrying stone is really expenive on Malficius. I do think Malficius is good, but Amara is horrible.
You should have seen Amara in a friendly game, 5000 points, amara just walked into the fray and began the butt kicking, took a total of 0 damage throuout the entire game and blew up tons of units with expload undead and just reg attacks. Ananub, 6 mortar squads, altem acabrius, 2 delphana mages, 3 technoprentices, 5 golem familiars. Quite a bit more than alot of my other units, including malf and demostothese, ohhh, I forgot to mention, his total damage count was more than kossak and kossak had both the luck blade and bracers of the giant. Don't diss that you have not yet played in all probability.
