Im excited about the direction of the game! I want to be part of the change and to help Wizkids and the MW Community grow. I have the upmost respect for Tony, Jonas, Kelley and Southpaw13. As long as they are here I will be here to lend a helping hand!
The best part of MW is the community. We have great people involved at all levels. We have some great players as well as some very good Envoys. These people form the base of a great community.
I have invested a lot of blood, sweat and tears into Wizkids, this game and this community to just turn my back and walk away. ;) I am here until this game ends. If I have any say, it will never end! ;)
I'm stayin with the game. I only need the Vulture to finish my Jade Falcon collection. I already have all my Kurita pieces. I keep these armies with some GSers in my case. I'm always ready to play. My problem is the other two people at my venue (BM & his son) will be dropping the game completely. I dont intend to leave the game at all. I love playing all 4 Ares against either of my two factions.
But if I end up being the final person playing the game at our site, then so be it. I have between 3000-4000 point armies of all the other factions at home and can make up my own battles or play the battles from the books.
Besides when Mage Knight ended I was playing up till the end of it; and earlier this year I finally got the last Solonavi piece to complete there faction, even though the game had been dead over a year. If MW does die here I can always drive over toward South Bend, IN or up into Chicago. I know the game is still strong in those cities.
I, and my two other dozen other buddies are staying! At our venues we do not allow any sort of negativity. If that sarcastic guy ever shows up at our parts, we will infect him with our good spirit and cheer!
This is a great game, but it is made greater by the community that keeps it alive and fun!
Well, this may surprise some folks since I tend to be pretty down on what I view as WK's poor stewardship of the game overall, but I'm here to stay too. I may drop out of sanctioned play events (again), or stop buying WK product from stores (again), but regardless of what happens I'll continue to play MW at home "for fun" and pick up a few select figures off eBay, just as I have since I started with MW back when FFE came out. I enjoy the game too much to quit.
I'm not sure how this is considered staying with the game.
I will coninue to buy boosters, attend tournaments, buy whatever other products they release.
I still play Mage Knight regularly at a venue and recently purshaced 3 cases of MK boosters.
I've missed one of my daughters birthdays two years in a row to attend the world championships (thank you gencon for not folling on the 19th again last year). My priorities may be a little skewed but I don't think you can't argue my love of the game.
I've gone down on one ship and am willing to patch any holes nessasary to fix this one.
When my first ever booster pack containing a ConstructionMech Mk II and a Mobile HQ almost made me quit.
Hey, a ConstructionMech Mk II can be used successfully in competitive play if you play it right... heh, that one never gets old.
Come to think of it, I actually made good use of a Swordsworn AgroMech Mk II years ago. It's certainly true that 'Mechs have improved since those nostalgic days of LaborMechs running rampant.
I’m Staying!!!
Though the number of active venues for MechWarrior has decreased in the Knoxville area, we are keeping a consistent number of people playing and showing up for events at the one venue that does have MW.
My son and I are there most every week and 2 to 4 additional players are showing up each week as well.
Is it the “record setting” crowds of "old"?
Nope. But, the game is ALIVE and WELL in K-town.
I am looking forward to the changes that Kelly and the MW team is going to make for Outlaws and 2007.
I am wondering how those changes will affect Nationals and Worlds next year…
Folks, Look forward to 2007 and another GREAT year of MechWarrior.
The game is fun and the prizes are the Best they have ever been.
MW is my main game at the moment, I am a collectable game veteran and I know that no single collectable game has ever had an infinite life (with the possible exception of Magic, but even that game is now over it's peak). BUT I would very much like to continue with this game, it has not lost it's attraction for me and even if they wouldn't change a thing I'd not stop playing and collecting.
We (posters on this thread) love the game and would not like to lose it.
Actually this is more worrying than the post if you're leaving. You won't see many people who are leaving posting on there because ... they left. So where is the support? Come ON people. If you love this game, speak up. If you want this game to survive SPEAK UP!!!
