I like to thank you again for SURRENDER YOUR DREAMS. It's probably one of the best DARK AGE novels I've read so far. (My other favourite is THE SCORPION JAR).
I reread your book over last night and I realized something very momenteous about it.
Devlin Stone
This is the first time we heard first hand words of this character. Not by heresay or second hand accounts. Considering the mythic status of this epic hero, I understand why WizKids is so reluctant in letting him play a part right now. My question is Mr Perdoe...did the genesis of Devlin Stone occur during the Mechwarrior/Battletech series of novels? I know that we saw shadowy fragments of The Master and The Word of Blake, but did we ever see the beginings of Stone during the Fed-Con Cvil War?
I don't know...I get the idea after reading Stone's address to Redburn. That he is sort of an older grandfatherly sort of individual that hides a wealth of secrets. The way he calls Redburn "son" sort of adds to this picture in my opinion.

yes i agree with u. devlin sure got tons and tons of secrets, also the part where he call redburn son...........hmmm.........maybe he is stone's son???:noid:
also the end part where levin says "he finally died the way he deserved to die" hmm....wat does levin meant..........damn make me wonder wat redburn do in the name of protecting the republic..

Er... no. Stone says he trusts Redburn like a son.
And when Redburn refers to Chin as son, there's no familial relation there, either.
After reading Mr. Pardoe's current work on BattleCorps I had a feeling that the Fidelis were going to be revealed as Clan Wolverine. I was also confused by the parts about how afraid the fidelis were to let anyone, especially the Falcons know who they were.
It said that it would be a bigger deal for the Falcons, not anyone else in the IS to know who the Fidelis were. In my mind it would have been a serious problem if they were Wolverines and no where near as big of one as Smoke Jaguars.

I totally think Clan Wolverine should come back and kick some butt. They were never destroyed.
What has amazed me is that by coming right out and saying, "It's the Smoke Jaguars!" there are folks out there (present company excluded) that are still going, "no, it has to be the Wobbies, the Wolverines, etc.."
Proof positive that people are addicts to conspiracy theories.
None of us want to believe it is that simple. Just like nobody wants to believe that one lone nut with a rifle could kill JFK.
Just finished reading the book. An excellent read. I especially liked it when the Custos/Paul Moon noticed that he looked just like Trent when he last saw him. Quite the change in him from so long ago.
I wonder if we'll ever find out more about the Fidelis/Smoke Jaguars. The story behind how they became the Fidelis would make a good book.
