As much as I would like for it to be B&B, it is not as consistent as TT is. And in the new one-game format, consistency is key in a build. Though that was proven wrong in Texas.
Have fun in SoCal all, as New Jersey is a little far for me to be traveling. Especially when you have school, and your a teenager.
Consistent decks are Top Tier Decks. Unconsistent ones are Upper Tier. Random decks are... in the Mid Tier.
Plus, you also need a lot of testing. That's why Common Enemy is so good. A lot of people have tried it out, shared it, and it has grown with the help of lots of people playing it. It can be beaten. It's called Taking OUT Common Enemy.
I'm sure things will be different @ So Cal. Why? Cuz, it's not a 10k, it's a 15k. Weird, yup. But, I digress. Here's how I think it'll breakdown:
- Marvel Finals
Common Enemy
Curve Sentinals
- DC Finals
Teen Titans
Superman-Heroes
- Final Finals
Teen Titans v. Common Enemy
So was this a preview to the SoCal 10K? It could be.;)
Change Tag-Team for Alley-Opps for Curve Sentinels.
Instead of TT, it might be B&B. What do you think?
Good days, good games.
Hope to see you all at SoCal.

Tag Team gets much love. It's almost like Lost City for the Mark V. It has to stay in.
We saw almost no B&B. My Beloved actually did very well piloted by BigSpooky. I'm almost positive he also finished in the money.
More from Dave and I on the Sentinel deck on Friday, but I just want to say that Dave beat at least 4 Common Enemy decks and I beat one along with Teen Titans. Curve Sentinels are without a doubt a Top Tier deck in the current meta.

I believe he was referring to the Marvel v. DC 10K where Tag Team would not be able to be in the deck.
I also am a bit confused on why Curve sentinels is such a good deck in this meta? The characters just seem unimpressive in ability and size. I assume you will save this discussion for Friday but if the feeling hits you please share. It just does not seem any better than any other deck that tries and hits all it drops (xmen, LOA, Spidey, syndicate). What am I missing?
Yes, my bad on the 10K thing. The comment still stands regarding Tag Team however.
The deck is good mainly because it is so flexible it can run curve to 7 or medium swarm with Master Mold and Underground Sentinel base, and it is good even when it misses drops. I didn't miss drops any more than Rob or the guys playing TNB or the CE players in the matchups I watched. I missed Bastion in my final win against CE and played 2 Mark Vs on Turn 8 while my opponent dropped Apoc. Mark V is probably one of the best 4 drops ever created.
That's all I'll say for now, you'll have to wait until Friday. :)
Congrats, I'm happy about the purples too :D. WOW, brilliant, i wanna do a little toying around. (MY first deck was Wild Vomit...but it got stale fast, it became my little side deck (not sidedeck, but a side deck). Damn though, brilliant build ^_^. And congrats to everyone from realms who participated!!!

Yes sir! I finished 18th with a 6-4 record. Not bad seeing as how the only losses I suffered were to three top 8 players and my own stupidity (I forgot to play a resource in my seventh round matchup).
After this weekend, I discovered a lot about how My Beloved plays in the metagame:
- It has EXTREMELY strong matchups against Teen Titans and Brave and the Bold. I'm pretty sure I only won my second round match against Typhon because Tower of Babel completely shuts down team attacks.
- It has a fairly strong matchup against Common Enemy and Big/Medium Brotherhood. I handled two Common Enemy decks without too many problems. And I think that the only reason that I didn't take Sean Poestoke in round 5 was because I didn't see a League of Assassins character until turn eight (though, to be fair, he had a pretty lousy draw against me, too). And Unmasked makes Lost City useless. I won quite a few matches thanks to that metagame jewel.
- It has a rough matchup against New Brotherhood and Curve Sentinels. I had to burn Tower of Babels like crazy to stay in my New Brotherhood matchup with David Jafari (I might have had a chance had I not misplayed one on turn 6). And I did pretty well against En-Kur's Curve Sentinel deck... that is until Bastion hit the field and made me his girlfriend (two Cover Fires?!?!? Grrrr.....)
Overall, I was not disappointed with how my unproven deck did (seeing as how I was one misplayed resource away from a top 8 finish). It was a real treat to get to meet the Realms personalities face to face. They are all EXTREMELY talented players and very decent guys. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to So-Cal, but I hope to meet up with everyone again there (especially with Stu so that we can finally have our "Barnes vs. Barnes matchup!)
In any case, congrats to all on your performance and I wish all of you the best of luck in SoCal!
P.S. I don't know if he reads the boards on VSRealms, but I would like to give MAJOR props to Thomas Nelson. He was playing a version of En-Kur's Curve Sentinels deck. Anyhow, I forgot to play a resource in my match against him as well. He could have taken the easy (and legal) road to victory by not letting me play the resource, but he let me back up and rectify my misplay. I'm not really criticizing those players who are staunch enforcers of protocol, but I am saying that it's really cool that there are players out there who don't want to win because their opponents make obvious protocol mistakes. He ended up losing our match due to his graciousness, but he gained a TON of respect from me! You da man, Thomas!
For the record, I believe the Sentinel deck that Thomas (Evltom, btw) was playing was actually a version of Rob Leander's build. The 7 drop Magneto is what makes me think so, but I could be wrong.
At the PCQ in Knoxville Chad Daniel announced that you either play a resource or must explicitly say you are not playing a resource. Chad is a level 2 judge.
So I ask you, did you call for a judge? If so, did you appeal to the Head Judge?
I believe you should have been able to play the resource.
sweet. Congratulations on the My Beloved victory Spooky. It's always nice to see it's doing well in the 10k. =)
Turn 8 My Beloved against Titans, B&B, and (???maybe???) curve sentinels seems pretty much like an instant win, since you should be able to bring out Demon's Head at that point. It's a nice advantage to have over a good 1/4-1/3 of the environment.
and curve sentinels I figured had potential...saw it in an X-Sent build I played against. Just glad that it's finished in the money at a 10k.
congrats again to all Realmers who did well at the tournament.
I hope to see some of you at So-Cal. If you want to get into contact with me there, PM me. I'd love to meet some of you. =)
