Naw ... it's more along the lines of people will take any opportunity to talk about the new set. There's 2 'dedicated' threads to talk about the spoilers [the 'any non-metagame thread' and the 'keep track of the numbers thread']
Both of those are continuously updated.
Here's another place for people to talk about the spoilers and they are talking about it here too ...
I think it kind of points to how much people are enthusiastic about the set that they are able to fill up so many pages talking about it.

Or we are actually all very bored with nothing else to do.
I'll say this - I am very excited about the Shadowpact, and I have been saving my one Enemy of my Enemy to trade for their rares ( which there will certainly be quite a few of ). Zattana plus Shazam plus Conjuration plus Fizzley card has me all warm and gooey in my special places.
That being said, I have not really been impressed by other cards from different affiliations. I need something to get excited for those guys, and I just havn't seen it. Was especially disappointed by the only two cards for Checkmate. I mean, come on ! We got three cards for one freaking character with Doctor Fate, and unless JSA has some serious stall power, he will rarely if ever see much play. Lame.
I'm hyped both as a player (Lex as Mockingbird and Conjuration are a couple of the reasons) and as a comic fan.
We finally get a badass Deathstroke, and the champions look to address the common complaint about the heavy hitters in decks not being the characters we'd want them to be.
Clearly Deathstroke was a character we've cried out for, and Shazam as a Shadowpact 7-drop is awesome flavor. When you think magic in the DCU, he's one of the first names that comes to mind.
In addition to all that, IC shows UDE's commitment by putting out a set when the events will still be fresh in all our minds. Kudos also to DC for allowing them some spoileriffic material to put out.
Personally, I've never been more stoked for a set and I'm primarily a Marvel fan that reads Green Lantern and large scale crossover events from DC.
If paying endurance for resource points, alternate win conditions and a team in Villains United that promises to do more off-initative than most teams do all game is boring than I don't know what it would take to excite you about this game.
To do a little trademark infringement, Make Mine VS System!

But yeah, Shadowpact seems like a ball :).
I agree with the second paragraph, that was in fact one of the things I was trying to say. I ####ed it up, which I seem to be doing more and more these days. My icon gets more appropriate by the minute. -_-;;;;;;
My problem with Shadowpact is that all their good-looking effects thus far revolve around paying endurance. This is a very, shall we say, outdated way of looking at the game. It used to be endurance was your most plentiful resource- three to hide Daredevil, great deal. Three to tutor with Roscoe Sweeney, also great deal. But that was before the rise of rush. Decks like Curve Sentinels and Common Enemy couldn't go on the offensive until turn 4 or so, leaving you time to build up a strategy and defenses of your own. You could afford to spend some early, or even later, endurance to ensure a tactical or strategic advantage. But today, the top aggro decks these days try to take you from 50 to 0 within 4 turns, and they have the means to pull it off an impressive amount of the time. In this environment, every point of endurance is precious, and each and every one of them has to be focused towards the single goal of outrunning your opponent to your win condition. Paying 4 to negate a plot twist that will probably translate into less endurance loss if it resolves, or risking a huge amount of endurance on a character your opponent will probably be able to take down anyway, is a fool's gambit. Frankly put, getting cute with impressive techniques doesn't win games anymore. Brute force does, and unless Shadowpact goes off-curve or short-curve themselves, has a way to stymie aggro, or comes with some major life gain, jumping the resource curve and readying Dr. Fate is just so much sound and fury.

This bothers me. A player has access to the set before it has been released, who also happens to compete on the Pro Circuit... makes me wonder if TOGIT already has IC decks, and if so, for long?

Aw, man. Here we go again. >_<
Well, maybe it's for the best. It'll liven up the boards. I was just the other day thinking it's been entirely too long since our last mod rampage. ^_^

That high res full art teaser every day. It's just too good. Especially when it has Bugs!
Tonight at midnight? Something or someone to support Infestation? I just made a mess in my pants and lost another $30 in drafts on Saturday.
Seriously, the big art at the bottoms of the previews is the best part.
Preview weeks rule!
i haft to stay up till midnight tonight man!! i might be able to play a army BuG deck at a pro circuit?????!!!!!! sign me up
