Straw men are what we do here, they burn better. Did you expect a message board populated by people who play with superheroes on cardboard to follow official debate rules?
Chad, you know I love you like a brother. I honestly thought that your intense arguments included an "I'm quitting." type of sentiment. That may just be me and my perception, but I would have sworn that you were saying you were fed up and you weren't going to take it anymore.
In other words: I can't be bothered to even behave consistently and with respect to others so I will behave like a sad little child.
Once again, grow up. Don't read the threads you disagree with, but don't dare piss all over my opinions because you don't agree with them.

[b]Here's the irony of all this. The people that complain are probably people that actually care more about the game than people that run around with rainbows over their heads.
Anand asked "the question that has people moaning" to the Top 8 players from the Hamilton 10K. If you need an objective barometer to gauge the opinions of the players in this game, maybe you could start there. It surely would cut some of the crap, wouldn't it? See for yourself:

"Waaah, I don't like Vs anymore! Waaah!" THEN STOP PLAYING!

No one is making you read the posts. Maybe the people wanting to talk about what is wrong, and how to fix it, do not want to hear the baaaaaing from a sheep like you, who wants to stay in the dark and keep an blind eye on the world around hi

We wouldn't waste the time to put together coherent arguments about this if we couldn't care less about the game.
Me? Sure, I'm still freakin' pissed that they banned a card that was one of the really fun decks that I play quite often.
But I also think this represents the start of several dangerous precedents that would hurt UDE in the long run. That was basically the point from the start.
But I'll just go back to whining now ;)
I think this is hitting the nail pretty much on the head. Look guys, deny it all you want, but there have been many legitimate reasons for complaint, especially over the last few weeks.
I notice a disturbing trend as of late on the Realms that if anyone has a major complaint, they get berated with things like, "Just go quit", "Whine more", or "Idiot, things are fine." Well, obviously things arn't, or there wouldn't have been new bannings, errata, etc. I have complained a lot lately, does that make me a "whiner" ? No, it makes me a dissenting opinion, as I happen to think that VS has some glaring flaws that need to be addressed. But if I didn't care, or didn't want to make it better, I wouldn't say anything.
I love this game, but man, it ain't all gumdrops and sugar plums in the land of VS right now.
Originally posted by stubarnes That's funny. On a message board, double funny.

Why would I need to read that page when I can see what people are feeling right here.
Or are you so arrogant as to discount them as well.
Once again, since you seem deaf to that fact: if you dont agree with a thread - don't read it. If you are going to insult people because of it then quite honestly, youre an idiot.

Because it never hurts to read all of the facts?
One of the players eve nsaid EomE should be banned. Same with Fate Artifacts (Can't agree there)

We do not have access to, and we never will know, the opinions of those who don't say anything. And I would bet that most of them care as much as we do.
How many times does a "glaring flaw" need to be identified by the same person before it becomes whining? Three? Six? Nine? Twelve? I can find you more than that, for one single person, saying exactly the same thing, over and over again. And over again.
This game may not be all sugar plums and unicorns, but it ain't anything close to the thing that the "Glaring Flaw Police" are making it out to be either.
I think it just comes down to being obvious that something's rotten in the state of VS right now. Sure, people always argue.. but even in CS's heyday there was nowhere near this many arguments against SINGLE cards. It was against decks, mostly. Like Titans and Sentinel. When one card like EOME can allow countless numbers of decks to plow through the meta... how can anyone deny that something is wrong?

I would say that a "glaring flaw" needs keep being identified until it is fixed. Change typically needs a steady chorus rather than single isolated statements. If your purpose is to state your opinion one time will suffice but, if you want to bring about change then you might have to say the same thing over and over.

That is what it comes down to. It is not obvious to me. The game seems completely healthy. We have gotten through this multiple times. There was actually more outrage over the Savage Nasty Overload combo, before it was banned, than we have now. The old threads did not survive the server switch or I could show you just how hot that was.
This is nothing new, and I hope everyone is having a good time dancing to it. I know I am.

well said stu, It is not obvious to me either. The diversity that this card has brought to the game is a good thing and the meta is as healthy as it can hope to be. I'm not generally overoptimistic but I just dont see the problem here.
I do understand the people who cant get ahold of a set, it stinks, but that is not ude's fault that is the nature of a collectible game. Hopefully UDE does reprint it so people who dont have a set can get a set, but outside of that I feel what the card does is a good thing.
Honestly, I'm surprised at all of the complaints about Enemy Of My Enemy. I figured everyone knew that it would be the new power card in the Vs. System the moment it was previewed on Metagame. Heck, I even said as much in pretty much every one of my articles right after it came out. Here's a great quote for you:
"I highly recommend that you acquire four copies of Enemy of My Enemy. It’s that good!"
Yeah... that was February 28th... three-and-a-half months ago. Back then, the price of EomE was running around $10-$15 apiece. How do I know? Because that's what I bought mine for.
It seems to me that the complaints aren't that EomE is ruining the game. Rather, some people didn't have the foresight to get copies of EomE when they were "cheap", and are upset now because the top decks in the Silver Age play four copies. Well, that isn't "ruining the metagame". Rather, that is good players playing a good card in good decks (geez... I sound like Michael Jacob).
Of course, because I'm always ready to take any opportunity I can for shameless self promotion, I will tell the naysayers out there that my next two articles feature decks that don't run a single copy of Enemy Of My Enemy. In fact, the first deck (which will be in my article this Wednesday) tested at about a 60 to 70 win percentage against five of the top decks in the Silver Age - Ivy League, Mexican Hardware Store, Checkmate Toolbox, Good Guys, and Fate Artifacts.
Believe it or not, it IS possible to do well without Enemy Of My Enemy. However, you do need to be willing to think a bit outside of the box rather than netdeck the last deck to win a Pro Circuit.
