I sure could. Hellboy, MTU, World's Finest, and two Legends sets. PC Indy and the City Championships to win your face on a card.
Those are real things, remember. Not paranoid delusions and insufferable impatience.
Honestly, saying that UDE is continuing to release product (or is at least planning to) isn't much of an argument, and every time you include it it diminishes your point. Releasing product is the bare minimum of what you expect a company with a property to do. It's the attendance award of business health.
(And given the sneak attendance numbers we've been hearing for MTU, I'm not that impressed by its impact thus far. "A bit better than Legion, maybe on par with Heralds" is not what was hoped for.)

The fact that everyone at the sneak I attended was very impressed by the set was, however, exactly what I had hoped for.

Love takes time
To heal when you're hurting so much
Couldn't see that I was blind
To let you go
I can't escape the pain inside
'Cuz love takes time
I don't wanna be here
I don't wanna be here alone
If I'm gonna emo out... I might as well do it all the way.
Just give it time. I think UDE knows there are problems and they are not going to be fixed overnight.
Maybe when they said update Monday...they were referring to Midnight tonight?
I love playing this game. I play pretty often with a couple of friends in my neigborhood, but I playy as much as I do so that I can play competetively. I love competetion and playing my decks against other decks and without OP I dont think that this game would be anywhere near the same. I doubt that half the people would put as much time into this game and that would result in less casual games, and less creativity.
If I spent less time playing vs I definetly wouldnt have posted half of the deck lists that I have thrown into the deck garage or strategy and tactics forums...I mean I love making new decks and testing them against others, but I also love competetion and winning(getting a little repetetive huh?) I think that If there wasnt OP then playing wouldnt have the same intensity, in tournaments the majority of the people are focused and playing the hardest they have before...opening windows for more hidden combos, ideas, etc. Basically what I am saying is...this game would die w/o OP. I dont think it would be profitable for UDE because a lot less people would be so anxious to buy the DLS and MXM packs for the hot cards that are Enemy and Mobilize and no one would be eagerly buying packs of the newest sets in search of the latest combo that they can go all the way with.

I don't know if this is terribly accurate. Maybe if you just poll the people in the online community. But I'd wager that there are far more casual players than there are OP players.
My roommate has bought 3 or 4 boxes of MXM, and not for Enemies, but for the X-Men, because he loves the X-Men. He pretty much just gave me the two Enemies he opened. He is not an OP player in the slightest(though he went to his first Sneak last week, and had a blast). Our household really wouldn't change much if OP was gone, and I imagine there are a ton of people like us.
Now I'm not saying the game wouldn't be less profitable without OP. Of course it would. Less people playing = less money. But I don't think the game would die. But we'll never have to worry about that, because I'm pretty sure that OP is going to be around for a while.

These are the best posts.
The guy buys X-men for X-men and gives away his Enemies.
These are the players that will keep VS alive.
No matter how good an OP program is... it's the casual players that keep a game going.
I have been looking forward to Competitive VS. I consider myself a pretty good player. I always top 8, top 4 or once in awhile win small events, including Hobby League and PCQs. I have enough points to go to a PC and have enough left over. I am only disappointed in not being able to play more competively. I am excited about this new change and hope it is worth all the wait. I am sure it will be.
But on the other end, I also play this game because it's well designed, the characters are comic book icons and the strategies are endless and fun. I play casually with my friends and always showing off my new jank or deck building skills. I also buy at least a box, if not 2 of every set. No matter how bad or good. No matter if there are no cards 'worth' having. I will buy the box to have cards to play with. A new team to jank out. About 50% of the players I play with, at least 12, all have money issues. They are poor, or are young or both. They also play other games and many other hobbies. WOW online and trading card game, Magic and warhammer and whatever flavor of the month you can think of.
Poor players = no boxes bought. UDE can do nothing about that, though they could advertise more. That is one thing I think management has missed the ball on. Advertise your game on TV, internet and other such places. Comic stores are great and obvious, but so are cartoons, gaming magazines, comic books. That is how you bring in more players.
Advertising cost money...sure, but if the game was losing money, as the old saying goes...."You have to spend money, to make money."
So people wanting to play competive, have to buy the cards to get the loot. So until we have a tournament announcement, no one will be buying cards en masse, even Marvel Team-up. Shrug.
