Just had a heck of a time explaining why the abbreviation for Indiana wasn't allowed in a name when the abbreviations for New York, Maryland, and Illinois were allowed.

"I-N" is a preposition, you go in the store, you get in trouble. The State ignores words like that when determining name availability. I gave it a shot because it is also an abbreviation but they aren't gonna let it fly.

But why weren't any of the other names rejected?

Because "N-Y" "M-D" & "I-L" aren't also words, you understand?
