I was behind a car tonight on the way home from work, the first three digits on the license plate was LPC, I giggled like a little girl.
Wait, you aren't a little girl?
Yeah, I chuckled at the LPC because I was used to hearing "LPC" as a slang term for your Army boots whenever somebody asked how we were getting somewhere that didn't have vehicle support. Little did I know that the LPC term here would be used way more than my old Army term!
Anybody looking for a Venom Wolverine or an Emperor Gladiator? Check out my trade thread link if so, though I think we're mostly non Heroclix folks now
I can't believe that the original Suicide Squad made $746.8 million worldwide, but the newer one (THE Suicide Squad) only made $167.4 million
Someone listen to Keep On Pushin. It's pretty chill.
Wow. The new Suicide Squad is just so amazing compared to the first one. The first wasn't unwatchable, but it sure didn't keep me in stitches and engaged in the story like Gunn one did. Seems like movie takes will henceforth forever be screwed in comparison to pre-streaming movies. How many folks, like me, subscribed earlier or longer to HBO Max in order to watch it. I've stayed with HBO max since (Doom Patrol FTW), but my $$ doesn't show up anywhere in the box office take, I'm sure.
Jardin Du Luxembourg, I love how Sean Lennon's musical taste is all over the place. The mix of the organ, guitar, tamborine and drums has a far out surfer feel of the late 60's, conjures up visions of go-go dancers.
I started getting into the Pokemon TCG cause my kid has been all about it and three of my co-workers are collectors of it. They don't play the online version so all of the code cards that come in the packs (every pack you buy in real life gets you the same set booster online) they give to me. It's been great, I'm already almost done with a number of sets after about a month (they buy a ton).
But man, Pokemon changed. Not sure exactly when, but even the meta decks I remember from back in the day would do absolutely squat in today's environments. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just very different. Sort of like us.
At first I felt like it had a gentle 80s pop feel to it, but then the guitar and the singing reminded me of Yes. And then the guitar reminded me of Covet. I think I need to listen to it one or two more times to digest it all.
For some reason Marked For Death reminds me of Corrosion Of Conformity - Shallow Ground. However, the singing reminds of the stereotypical goth girl that thinks her life is soooo terrible.
Saturday (6/11) there was a outdoor pyschobilly, rockabilly, punk rock show two blocks from my crib, so I decided to check it out. The headliner was Denmark's power trio, (complete with stand up coffin bass) Nekromantix. 4 bands, 4 hours (6-10), $15. The undercard was Drew & The Blue. The Noid. and One Revived. The weather was beautiful for consuming beer and live music. Slyfox recently relaunched Reading Premium Light American Lager which locally has a 133 years of history, so I represented a few of those, delish.

I had forgotten about Shallow Ground! Thank you for reminding me about it. I just need to go relisten to that album.
