The Battle Report for the Chase for Lanterns is up. Read all about it, including the final standings and round by round victories.
What an epic and draining day. I had to face two mirror matches against The Spurs. Had to face E-Sleazy twice. And had to take on E2 Supes. Talk about frying your brain on clix.
I can speak for everyone there that I am just burnt out on clix. Sorry Quiet Storm for not making it today, but I needed some sleep.
With 8 players, everyone had to run the gauntlet. Eric, Dustin, Brett & E2, Eric again, Charles. *whew* Even my first round against Oasis "I like to push and kill sh*t" Nick was no easy way to start the day. His philosophy did net him the first KO of the tournament and a Rags Surtur.
All the respect in the world to Squire for coming out on top. He's solidified his standing in the community as one of the best in town. And has a firm grasp on the HeroClix Championship Belt. But how long can he hold onto it? Alright Dream, Cena is going to take some time off to go make a movie. But when I get back it's you and me man.
I'm very proud of Austin making the Top 4. All those Dungeon sessions really paid off. Now its time to take your game up to the next level. I'm also proud of how everyone performed. HBK and I spent alot of time coaching and helping build teams. You could see it in what was fielded by the novices and rookies. Pretty soon they will be winning and keeping the old guard out of the Top 4.
The highlight of the day for me was beating The Spurs twice. The team I designed that's Worlds Top 4 worthy and it didn't dissapoint.
The low point of the day, was not losing to Charles. He earned it. It was losing in the finals to a team that had M-11 on it.
NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to be eating crow about that figure for a long time.
Oasis was fun today only Damon, ish, and I were there. Me and ish were 2-1 and Damon was 1-2. next week at oasis is 500 all marvel pieces. Got a violet lantern for my collection.

Congrats on your second tourney win today Nick.
Ahhh I remember what it was like to be young and able go back-to-back days. Now I need a pill for that sort of thing. :knockedou

If anyone wants a huge lot of Heroclix, I'm auctioning off everything this week.
Oh, hey man, are you seriously leaving the game? What will the Impossible Men think?!
And I wouldn't be discouraged about not stomping a$ses at the tournament. I mean, you were in rounds with a lot of solid players, and you were holding your own.
Wouldn't want you to do anything rash and miss out on future fun.

Black Bolt of the Vegas Illuminati

They're probably thinking that it's annoying that I'm going to abandon them.

erm. Halfway through game 1, 15 minutes into game 3, and 5 minutes into game 4; I knew I was f-ed. I held out either because of stealth/League of Assassins and the wonderous conditions they turn a game into , or me sitting on my arse for 15 minutes because I couldn't decide whether to attack, clear, or just go home. I don't think Roland was amused with on that one.

I'm burned out on fighting for time to go to any tournaments, performing a disgusting amount of research and trading various collectables around the house to make a team for a particular tournament, and just not having a good time. I've never thought after a clix outing, 'I learned a lot and had fun'. It's not just the paltry results, I just can't seem to have fun with this game no matter what I do.
I've concluded that you can't go into clix games solely on research. It's either you attend tournaments on a very frequent basis or you're going to get left behind. I can't keep up, so that's decision making made easy.
It also sounds to me like "burnout" more than anything. I've had it myself. Heck, I think every one of us has. You'd be a sad panda bear if you sell everything and then have to buy it again because you want to put your feet back in the water.
Take a break. No one says you "Have To" go for awhile. Go. Be normal. Do your thing. And when you're ready to try and beat down some peeps....come on back y'all. Y'hear?
I never got to use my other 400 point team. I wonder how it would have done.
Sinestro
Talia
Thing
Lightspeed
Diana Prince LE
Instead of using prob (likely a cuckoo), this team would have relied on double perplex. Talia PB for 4 onto stealthed characters, Or Sinestro gets +2 to his own PB. They could even bump up Thing, and have Sinestro TK him into smash range.
There seemed like so many options for it. But I never got to play test it (since I only built it Friday), and the round I would have used it I got a bye.
"And I shall make little coins with my head on them and place them in the thongs of your strippers."
I'm a huge fan of that Diana Prince LE. She is Ms. Jackson Nasty.
Just used her and she was key in eliminating quite a few figs with that flurry and perplex. Even Imp. and Inv. people have to take note and TRY to get rid of her.
