It came with it. There is a switch, but it's got letters on it. No clue what that means. At this point I'm out $32 for the converter and $15 for the HDMI 4' cable. Even more if I need to buy another power adater. Should have just bought a darn TV with the right inputs. Wish the site I bought it on wasn't full of crap about what they advertised. It said it had RCA inputs.
Did you end up buying this one? Because based on the reviews, it looks like power supplies are kind of a problem for that company. Do you have a mini USB cable you could use to see if the thing is totally DOA?
Sorry folks, it's been very busy in my world lately. I haven't managed to pop back on here and even say hello.
This Sunday, my fiance and I are getting marred (sic) at a local prairie museum. It will have exactly 5 participants. Then, we will have a small party at the bar/restaurant/dessert bar that her brother owns.
Next May, we will have a full-on ceremony for renewal of vows and such at the same museum, in the church at that museum. It will still be small. Then there will be a big-ass reception.
I have completely moved into her place as of yesterday. Some of my stuff is now in a storage locker until we find a place for everything, but that's better than paying rent for a place I don't live in.
I have gotten mixed reactions from people when I tell them I'm getting married, and how soon. I think many of them expect her to be pregnant, and are confused when they find she isn't. Here's the skinny:
I am marrying her now for unromantic reasons, mostly. I want her to have my health insurance, so she can handle the many many things that need to be handled. I also want her to start working toward a deductible if she's going to constantly pay cash-in-hand for things she has no insurance for. We are also two people who are easy to stress out, and we want to get the stressful part over and done with. We want to be married, and not go over details for 9 months about a perfect wedding scenario. We both hate weddings, and love receptions. We just want to fast forward to the #####in' reception. And lastly, it relieves some family pressure. As much as I would like to stick to my guns on living with someone, we both have way too much going on as it is, and we needed the financial relief of working together on singular expenses, rather than punch our way out. Neither of us needed the stress of family warfare.
I am marrying her in May, completely for romantic reasons.
Also, I believe we have decided on wedding rings, mostly. She is going to have hers styled as The One Ring, and I am going to have one of the Rings of Power. And if that ruins someone's patriarchal view on marriage, to hell with them.

My wife and I dated 9-ish months before getting engaged, then another 5 months before married, and folks thought that was fast. It was fantastic. Once you decided its the right person, pull the trigger, imo. Good idea on insurance and stuff. I find financial consolidation and providing for each other very romantic. Anyone can see beaches and sunsets and crap like that, but loving another person enough to bind yourselves financially in order to protect and provide for each other--that is love.

That's what I was thinking. I'll see what I can pull off.

Sounds great, man. If you're happy with the arrangement, who cares what others think? I'm extremely happy for you both.

Thanks, SL. I got lynched the day after my birthday, so that worked out all right!

Hello.
Is it me you're looking for?

Will any of the 5 participants be prairie dogs?

How big-ass is it gonna be?

I'm confused. Why isn't she pregnant?

Like getting pregnant, maybe?

Awesome!
Then, you can get her pregnant, yeah?

Which Ring of Power are you going to have? I recommend staying away from the Nine - unless you want to go Goth and wear black robes all the time.
(All kidding aside, I am extremely happy for you and your bride. Many blessings and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!)

I hallucinated that I was a prairie dog when I dropped some 25, I went behind the couch and kept poking my head out from behind it then quickly pulling it back in anytime someone came near.
IMO, the next X-Men set needs to be focused on AoA with secondary themes of Mutant X and Exiles. That set would fly off the shelves.
And I can't believe we haven't seen Marvel tap the What If...? well for clix.
As it is, I think the Wolverine and the X-Men set will fly off the shelves. My local place is already up to about 8 cases, and that's just the pre-orders.
Well my congratz to you Thawmus. You did something I couldn't, a small wedding. My wife and I got engaged, then told our mothers, and our dream of a small, intimate gathering was shattered. Two incomes as one unit is definitely awesome.
Just saw Man of Steel, and I was rather let down. My hatred for Superman has nothing to do with it. Too much action, not enough acting. With a cast that includes Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Laurance Fishburne, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Chris Meloni and Richard Schiff, they should have done a lot better. Too much CGI.
