There is no event at Good Games Burwood on Sunday the 24th of August

This is the date of the constructed National Tournament at DraGGon

Normal tournament play will start up again two weeks after that.

Slight change of plans. Due to probable player burnout from the nationals on 25th of August there will now not be any official clix event on the night of Thursday 29th August.

Also, I will be giving blood that day and will likely be tired and therefore grumpier than I generally am.

So, the next Thursday event on at Burwood will be 12th September - Fear Itself Month 3 - 400pts Sealed

Depending on peoples responce i wouldnt mind putting my hand up for Proxy judge on the 29th If Rob cant make it (which is understandable due to the great public service he is doing.. they wont take mine....)

I would be so bold as to suggest a format to flip the coin so to speak on the nationals burn out:

300 point Olden Age (No Modern Figures)

With the surge of booster drafts we have all had and then the nationals constructed I thought it best to play games with only outdated figures.

It would be Silver age in the fact there are no feats no bfc's no resources (because all resources are modern age) and it will give everyone a chance to play some recently aquired golden age figures they recently have gotten from the 2 Mat's and other possible ways.

If 2 other people could either confirm with me here or in person they would like to attend this and play then ill make sure I'm there

Hi Guys,

Here are the results of the amazing games we had on last Thursday:

Coming in first was new guy Owen Jenkins who according to Paul who brought him had only been playing for 2 days [insert round of applause]
He won with a Celebrity Team of Ultimate's Thor, Howard the Duck and Thunderbolts Venom. I saw his first game of him Vs'ing Apocalypse and all i can same is Venom can change shape better then the blue boss himself always rolling and getting his shape change rolls

Second was Paul who led his merry bunch of friends he brought with him.
He had a amazing Team of Yellow Lantern Sinestro with Winter Soldier. Only loosing to the Mighty Thor !!

James came in a healty 3rd using X-Force with Deadpool, Psylocke and Domino only loosing to the Might of the Horsemen of Apocalype.

Ryan Kennedy (another new guy) came in 4th after only playing for a week with the Target Exclusive Apocalypse. Mighty in size but cant seem to beat up stealth players or Shape changing Venom's. Well fought though taking down the might of Dr. Doom

Taasi came in 5th using the Mighty Horsemen of Apocalypse. Utilizing both Archangel and Hulk the horsemen of War and Death tried their best to dominate but unfortunately Hulk could only SMASH the puny X- Force !!

Last was Alex another new guy who was determined to show the might of Dr Doom and the mighty mind of the Ringmaster. However luck was not on his side that night and while he tried his best alas was not able to out dice roll his opponents.

It was a great night and I look forward to seeing these New people and Old players alike in future events to come.

BTW, sweet write-up of last Thursday, Incarnate. I just realized that the only two games I've managed to win in the past three tournaments were both against James.

Firstly, a big thank you to Incarnate for running the game last Thursday when I was unable to make it. (though I couldn't give blood in the end, and will likely be doing it later this month, but that's neither here nor there)

The next Thursday event is Month 3 of Fear Itself. This will be, like the other events leading up to it, a sealed event consisting of one Fear Itself Booster, and one booster of other Heroclix stock (Which should include Wolverine and the X-men if people from the ACT don't come and steal all our stock again like they did with Teen Titans)

You will make a 400pt team out of the contents of these two boosters, plus the Book of Skull resource dial and the Mighty or Worthy ATAs.

Month 3 hammers will be given at the start of the tournament so you will be able to use those as well.

Where does your shop gets its heroclix from as my local hobby shop has not got Wolverine and the Xmen in yet as he doesn't know when it will be in. (I am waiting and it is a long wait) .

I think , just to mix it up a bit ...
Buy two boosters one of Fear Itself and one of another (probably X-Men) and construct a 500 point team.

Just realised I forgot to mention next weeks event either in the last msg or at the game.

Next Thursday, 26th September

"Tussle at Titans Tower / Knockdown at N.O.W.H.E.R.E. / Excitement at Excalibur Lighthouse / Disco in the Danger Room"
200pts Golden Age. No figures costing more than 100pts including feats, resources or ATAs on them. No Hypersonic or Transporter!

Played on the small maps included in the Teen Titans & Wolverine & The X-Men team packs.

I'll bring what maps I have from these sets, but if people could also bring others that would be great.

Prize shall be AoA Nightcrawler.
