I don't think they HAVE to say it now. It might be helpful when folks turn their attention to the next sets though. Say, a couple weeks after B&B. However, I think the longer they wait after set release, the harder it will be to convince themselves to make any statements regarding B&B. The natural inclination for NECAWK after B&B hits the shelves will be to move on to the next set and not look back, unless B&B is a smashing success.
My bet is that they never release a statement on the poor quality of this set... What we need to do if get NECA's (not wizkids) attention and tell them how many of us are trully displeased with this set. Seriously think about it if this was Topps releasing this stuff after doing it for a decade and saw how good of a fan reaction most had with Hammer of Thor... they would've haulted production on this set until it was trully finished.
In my opinion I am truly disappointed with all the generics in a game about ICONIC superheros. I will no longer be buying any NECA product. I think someone (whomever ok'd this set to go into final production) is going to get fired. If this set wasn't finished by topps, then guess who finished it, guess who put it into final production, seriously I ordered a case... I'm still gonna keep it "i'm not backing out", but seriously Wizkids under NECA is to blame. They could've stopped production and waited till summer to release a DC set instead of this, But they didn't, they half-"assed" it and repainted a bunch of sculpts and printed different dials and cards "woohoo".

ps I'm glad we are getting new clix but if Neca is going to show that this is what they will allow to release to the public under their name, then I'm done
well, Elfhome already answered that for me. i'd rep him again but i already repped him tonite. one thing NECWK should do if they want to continue this trend is to increase set sizes if they want to continue REVs. when that system was in place we had 96 figs not 55. when we had REVs back then it was cool when the Hydra and Sheild units got different names and dials and slightly different sculpts. it was like getting something extra, but for so many REVs with the same sculpt to take up so many slots in this set, sorry, if i feel a little bit disappointed for you. and hey, they want feedback, if we say we like these type of sets then this will definitely be the type of sets we'll get. i've given them the benefit of the doubt of thinking this set was rushed to production, but it'd be nice for them to confirm that, like elfhome said.
All of that is fine, but you're complaining that they haven't done it now.
I actually agree with you that if customer feedback *after release* is seriously negative, then it would be a good move for them to say "Hey guys, we understand you didn't like 'X.' We're going to stop doing that/do less of that/work on the mechanics for that/whatever." When they're announcing a new set, that's the sort of thing which could engender good will and good faith. In fact, it's a move they've taken already more than once when they honestly addressed our concerns about God Packs and the Brick figures.
I just think it's unreasonable for them to address those complaints before the set even comes out. There are already people around here convinced WK is ashamed of the set. This wouldn't help. Right now their attention has to be on moving Brave and the Bold, which means talking up the positives and pointing out good things about the set.
You've got the right idea. It's just the wrong time.
Getting the Parademon before getting Ragdoll for Secret Six?
I'm baffled. The Parademon died in the first story, while Ragdoll's been ever-present on the team. WTF!?!?
My thoughts exactly!! And correct me if I am wrong .. it's going on 3 AM ... but wasn't one of "The Parademon's" worded power .. charge I think .. something to do with Ragdoll??? This really sucks, and who really wants 2 Talia's anyway?? Especially just a bad repainted old sculpt?
I also share others disappointment about no Max Lord figure!! He should have been in Crisis to begin with, but they failed. This set makes me glad I am broke and can't waste money on clix .. just doing some trades.
my friend calls magic cardboard crack.... lol and i would prolly too if i ever played it i could imagine if i started playing it when it first came out...
(the year is now 2010, its been over a decade since i started but i've finished it, i've spent over 10,000 dollars to set up my 500 decks just the way i wanted them... {thinking to self} "what could i have done with all that money?") (What they are releasing more Magic cards OMG! i have to start saving)
You people just now realizing how poor this set is need to look up some of the complainers from last week. We saw the proof in the pudding pretty soon. Even though so many people were trying to speak good about the set, we knew.
Yeah, the set list itself seems pretty bad, but at the same time realmers are so spastic on what they like. Before this set, many people wanted more generics, some people were disappointed that the Avengers set took away REV's. And what are we getting in this set?
And yes, people will complain this set looks cheaper than it should be, and that Neca should never have released it. But on a business standpoint, Neca purchased the rights to Heroclix along with the two sets( Hammer of Thor and The Brave and The Bold.) So why would they lose money by scrapping the concept of The Brave and The Bold?(Honestly if they did scrap it, I bet people would be complaining about how we got Hammer of Thor and No The Brave and The Bold)
If anything, they are showing that they are trying to bring Heroclix back by giving us collector sets and starter sets that people wanted to see.(Blackest Night and Brightest Day...well I mean we wanted more Green Lantern Theme figures) The Sculpts are being improved and seem to be more Dynamic (Did you see Hal Jordan? How many Hal Jordans did we have and finally they made one with a giant fist.)
And Watchmen, they got us Watchmen, something that so many people wanted and so many thought would be a pipe dream( And yes people will complain that it is based on the movie instead of the comic book.) But all of this shows that they are capable of doing something that old wizkids wasn't able to do.
And to people saying Neca should issue an apology...NO. What business will say sorry our product sucks, please don't buy from us until we do the next set, so we can potentially lose money and not recoup our loses from purchasing a previous brand. If anything, the heads of Neca realize how poor this set seemed since they previewed the whole starter set(and announced that these were the best looking figs ever sculpted) announced the Convention exclusive, and released several photos for Watchmen and one from Web of Spiderman, which is due in August.
So yes, the dial list so far doesn't look great, but more than anything this is a game and what makes this game great is playable figures. And at this moment we cannot fully comment on that, because we don't know all the dials. No the attacks do not compare to Hammer of Thor, but Hammer of Thor was broken in the sense that they made an 18 defense look as easy to hit as a 16 defense. We are getting a more balanced set. We are also getting generics that work as a team and generics that give different approaches to team buildings while fitting into the role that they fit into( The Amazons are close combat beasts, Checkmate have their intel and fighting squads, etc) We are getting sets that are more for comic book fans, which is seen with the ability to complete full teams, instead of random powerhouses.(I'll issue my only complaint here, why is JLI mostly duos)
But hey, you are all entitled to complain and moan, but this board has been filled with rants over a set that we have yet to see. If you want to be more meaningful with your rants then don't buy any of this set. Neca will respond more to their profits than to a group of guys who moan over a messageboardand while still buying the product in the long run. The sad truth is the majority of the people on this board who are complaining are still going to buy this set and Neca won't care, because they made their money. It's like a Michael Bay movie, everyone complains about the lack of story, big explosions, and cliche camera angles, yet he is still making hundreds of millions in the box office.
So stop with this entitlement that Neca owes you anything. If you don't like it, don't spend money on it. Or be happy that we have a set of heroclix to even complain about. I remember being sad that AA was the last set I was going to have and just wanted to see the product grow and expand to see figures and dials that Could and should be made. I came on Hcrealms so many times after that just to get a glimmer of hope that it might continue on, and thanks to this place keeping the name alive and peoples interest peaked we were able to show that people still cared. And here we are now, with those people screaming that it will all end and Neca will be the death of heroclix, because of one potentially bad set.
If you truly want to judge them, wait until the end of the year when we see what they can really do on their own with the Web of Spiderman and the DC set. But if you can't wait until then and want to continue to complain, then fine, do it and don't buy anything from this set. I for one will get a case, because I want to build armies of generics that will tear through the heroes.
That was kind of long, and I don't know if this post belonged here or on another topic where people are endlessly complaining, but I'm here now, so whatever.
I quite agree with you Numbskull expect on one point and that is the set although I agree abandoning the set was a bad idea I do fell they should have finished this set out (make it 60 not 55 figs and have the obvious LE intended figures as that which woudl have added another 10 characters into the set)
Other than that I am with you we did ask for most of this even if it hasnt happened exactly as we expected
