If we have outwit - why do I ever want exploit weakness? It is a strictly worse ability.
It's also a lot cheaper.
Powers add more to the cost of a dial than combat values do. Thus, an overabundance of expensive powers means that you'll have fewer characters or your characters will be ineffective in other ways in order to pay for all that Outwit, Perplex, and Hypersonic Speed.
wow this thread proves you should really try and know the game BEFORE posting a thread practicly saying this stuff sucks ! if you dont play other said thing i will crush you .......please just stop

You know what we haven't had a good rant against in awhile? Pulse Wave... can someone get on making a topic about how Pulse Wave is too powerful and shouldn't ignore everything?
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash

Oh, I'll bet he's a player -- a player who had his butt handed to him in a tournament by an opponent using lots of outwit, perplex, and prob. The next stop after leaving the venue in such a case is always the 'Realms.

You have used a censored word. Please remove this word. <-- Please kiss that word.
You know what really gets me is that the OP is arguing with a bunch of guys who KNOW all about the rules AND team building.
If they say YES you can build an amazing and winning team with Psychic Blast, Exploit Weakness, and Enhancement you should understand that it's a pretty reliable statement.
You have also had pointed out to you various instances where outwit will NOT work over EW or Psychic Blast (Batman TA being one and Running shot into hit would be the other).
I don't get the need to snap back and be snarky/rude to everyone who just disagreed with you and refuted your claim.
Face the facts....you don't know everything in this game AND it's a heckuvalot different than Magic so your comparing apples to oranges.....A Magic competitive player you may be.......but a heroclix master....not so much!!
My advice to you is to get to know this game a little more, understand the rules and scenarios and try to be a little more civil on these boards so no one jumps down your throat.
I'm going to hit him really, really hard with a big green boxing glove............ I'm kidding. - Hal Jordan
It's also more useful if you have it on a figure with Charge or Running Shot who can't see the target at the start of the action. A figure who Charges around a wall can Exploit Weakness a target that they wouldn't have been able to Outwit for lack of line-of-sight.
Thanks for your help. Actually gave some positive help/advice. Thanks. =)
Ill be sure to try it out - and as for the rules, do you have the newest fully updated rules? Or, where can I get them?
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that Perplex is a great power. You know what, Outwit is a great power too! What happens, though, if you are fighting a team full of Power Cosmics? And what if Overconfidence is in play?
The reason that multiple powers exist is to offer several different kinds options. Psyblast/EW only go through defensive reducers, but they do not require lof or a separate action. As mentioned before, if you are going up against someone that you will only have lof after the move portion of RS or Charge, then outwit will do you no good.
Also, I would rather have 3 Enhancers next my attacking turtle than 3 Perplexers because Enhancement triggers each time any adjacent friendly makes a ranged combat attack. After you bump the primary attacker's damage by 3 with Perplex, there is none left for the rest of the team. That being said, once the enemy bases you, Perplex is much more useful that Enhancement.
Every power has its strengths and weaknesses, and the plethora of powers that we have make this game more fun!
