I pulled this figure in our sealed tournament, yesterday. She is really great. In a 300-point game, she really cannot be maximized, but she will be nearly unstoppable in constructed play. It will be interesting to see what happens when both players have use this piece and remove each others' portals.

A THEORY ON SLOWING/STOPPING DOWN SPIRAL: In golden age, how about putting the Utility Belt on GSX Leech, then using Shatterstar's trait to place both of them adjacent to Spiral. Leech cancel's her DPA to open portals or, if the opposing player has already passed, use the Handcuffs on her from the Belt(assuming he could hit her defense with a little help from friendlies with perplex), to keep her from doing almost anything. I know that another opposing character could then proceed to KO Leech but then the opposing player would have less actions to send their characters through a portal. Thoughts?

I like the idea of the UB on Leech, but if Shatterstar is adjacent to Leech, he can't use his trait. It requires giving him a power action.

Hypothetically, if you could use Shatterstar's power with Leech, that puts you at paying about 116 points just to shut down Spiral. At that point, you may as well take your own Spiral and reserve the belt for someone else.

There are a few things wrong with your scenario first off you can't use RCE with Running shot since both are power actions you can only use P/PB, PW, Incap, Mind Control, and EE with Running Shot since all of those are or can be used as ranged combat actions. Secondly they treat the portals as adjacent for MOVEMENT purposes only so you can't see through the portal to shoot someone. You can running shot through the portal, by that I mean moving through it then shooting, if I'm not mistaken you can also charge, Hypersonic, and sidestep since all involve movement.

You can't attack through the portals. You can only use them for movement purposes. Hope this answers your question.
Now for my own question. Can a teambase such as say the brotherhood also treat these portals adjacent even though they are a 2 x 2 base?
I'd say yes, since multi base figures can move through tight places like doorways and whatnot. I think they only require enough space to park in after they move.
