Was playing the First Avenger match somewhat gung-ho until I realized prizes were GBW on whom I'm maxed. So, effort there would be primarily for the Alliance and I figure I might as well ask therefor how much the Alliance is focused on the First Avenger prizes?

I don't think we're good enough to finish in the top 100 yet, and I don't care much about how much/little ISO and HP we get collectively. I'm fine with you skipping it, and I am tanking it myself.

It's not the size of the alliance that counts, it's how you use the members you have.
Though obviously the need to perform well diminishes as the size increases...

Well, it is impossible when you are below a certain size to place highly. It's a bit of both.

I'll never snuff at HP and ISO rewards. If we could try to reach the highest rank possible in those categories without worrying about the Grey Suit, I'd be cool with that.

By the way, no one should feel forced to play because of the alliance. We're definitely doing well enough for now. Top 250 when new characters are up for grabs is what I really care about.

Perfect storm. I've won games I had no business winning and lost matches I had no business losing. All depends on tiles.

Same here, I'll never turn down ISO and HP, but I do prioritize events where both myself and the alliance are in for good covers. Top 50 in the Red ISO event gets me one of each Human Torch cover at the current alliance standing, so that's what I'm focusing on. I will do some first Avenger while my events recharge though.

I'm a little miffed that the 40,000 ISO reward is a Red Thor cover, the only one I have maxed. Ah well.

Yeah, but my tank team is three guys with an average level just over 20 and 3500 HP between them. It shouldn't be possible to lose to a team like that when you are in the stage of the game where you have a fully covered and levelled three star.
Not that I am complaining mind you... I realized I may need to end up in the top 100 in order to get HP to pay for the roster spot for Human Torch on Tuesday, and every little bit helps. Also, me being worth more points means more people will attack me, so it's really win-win even from a tanking perspective.
Eventually you'll probably only want 3 levels in red anyway, since Thor is really all about Call the Storm. Though you could go 5 in Red and Yellow if you want to use him to feed Green to someone else instead.
