It used to be on at all hours on the movie networks. I've watched that movie so many times, as it was always the best thing on.
Hell, it made me sorta like the Happy Mondays, which I never thought possible.
You KNOW we love us some Mondays. Always have. But this is Tuesday, so we move on.
(I'm still thinking about the size option thing, but everytime I type [size=9.5 inches] the computer says "No way!" I tell her I will be gentle and work it in slowly, but she's scared.)
as i was reading down the page i had this strange feeling that something was about to go terribly wrong . . .

Yeah, I guess it might be best here. I sent you a PM wondering about putting it on Metagame... but this might be a better fit. I'll write up my version and yours and anyone else who wants to take a crack at it. PM me your snail mail for the random rares either way... you hit a Grand Slam.
edit: After hearing of Flashback's playing conditions in his local community... it must go on Metagame. Y'all are just gonna hafta wait until after previews week. Sorry.
I love your articles! You are one of my favorite people to come to the realms to hear from/see. I did see you in Indy, felt so "star struck" it was grand... ok ok enough about you, let's talk about VS in general.
I love this game!! I once played Heroclix, and naturally moved over to VS (let me tell you LOT smaller case to bring with you)
One of these days I'd love to go to the Pro Circuit and maybe even get in the top 8 along side some of you.
My fear is that day will never come. I'm all about sportsmanship and fair play, so is everyone I play with. I went to a PCQ down in Cincy a few months back when Rama Tut was still legal. I refused to play it, not because I didn't want to win, just didn't feel good to win like that, my choice. That's not why I didn't have a good time. It was the kid who I played when I scooped up my cards and told him he won, he just smirked and said "and then I hit you for a million"
Just no respect I felt. Maybe I am wrong, just didn't feel like a good thing after that. I haven't been able to pull myself to go to another PCQ since. It's those kind of people that just have this attitude that just gets under my skin.
I've tried to get back down to Cincy, even just to meet some of the locals down there, just still feel burned from it.
But enough about getting everyone depressed. I still think this is one of the BEST games EVER!! I love thinking of my own deck ideas, ones that work, ones that don't... usually more that don't then do, but that's just a hit and miss sort of thing.
I do wish everyone good luck at all the PCQ's, 10K's and so forth!!!

isnt ethical egoism a belief that you are actions are right because you believe them to be and nothing else matters? what i was thinking of was utilitarianism where whatever causes the most abount of happyness is the most moral thing to do.
You're close. Ethical egoism is the belief that whatever I do is inherently right, so long as it betters me. The belief is that if everyone tried to do what was right for them, everyone would turn out the better. As such, the only ethical egoists are proactive, as it is quite obvious that not everyone believes their same moral principles. That's what I meant when I said that the method of going about it is the same as that of an ethical egoist.
However, the overall goal and measuring technique, in this case, is in fact utilitarianism. The fact of the matter is that these two aren't mutually exclusive. If my beliefs are such that if I do the best for me I'm doing the best for everyone and I try to do the best for me because of this, then I am both a utilitarian and ethical egoist.
And, reklawyad, it sucks to hear about that. I normally only "keep on playing" after my opponent scoops when it looks like my opponent is enjoying themselves (if I play a combo for the first time in my area, I know at least one of my friends that will be rooting for me as I go off against him), or when I am taking notes (such as to potentially write about later). Personally, I think you should start going to tourneys again. It sucks that one guy was an ####### but, if you haven't gathered from a majority of this thread, people in people tend to be reasonable. If someone says something to you like that, just say something back, like, "A million, huh? What a scrub. All the pro players hit with that deck for at least a trillion, to avoid the billion endurance combo that can be played in response. Oh, you didn't hear about that? I guess it's just discovered by some of the higher tier teams." If nothing else, you'll make them nervous for the rest of the day. Maybe I'm just a spiteful, vindictive person, though.

Biz, I typed up a vile venomous rant tearing you to shreds last night. Something about how all your comic knowledge could be googled by anyone who had a similar lack of real life as long as they could dig deep enough to find the Rush Limbaugh transcripts. It was nasty and hateful... and I decided not to hit the post button. That's just me, I guess I'm growing up.
Tell me, oh great Master of Moan, what do you feel when you see 50 or 60 screen names at the bottom of the main forum page that you do not recognize because you have never heard them speak? How about the 30 guests that are always watching and wondering? How does your bitter righteousness respond to that? You have your moments, when it sounds like you really appreciate this hobby we share, why can't you be more of an ambassador for the game and less of a one-trick hater? What purpose does your community persona serve in promoting the game? Are you simply here to teach lurkers how to grow backbones? Do you think it will really work?
(Anyone can answer, all opinions are welcome. I am just fleshing out the point I was trying to make with the quote. Thanks.)
