changeing it form thursdays is actually best for me because if I get the promotion I want I will be the manager on wednesday and/or thursday at block buster (the position is basicly to be manager on the less busy days, and do grunt work on the others, still a pay raise though )

So we had 6 people turn out for Comic's Oasis yesterday. I wanted to play something other than my WWLA team...So i played this team:

• Thanos (U) with Nanoarmor and Shellhead-283pts.
• Green Flame (R) 17pts.
  300pts.
  
  One the first match Vs. Jay.
  Lost the second vs. Brett (also a Thanos with feats!) a crit hit did me in!
  Won the third vs. the Dirty old man witha Vet Icons Supes team!
  
  The "grading curve" was thrown way outta whack by the dirty old man as he played Alpha Strike! So Supes netted me 502pts. TO WIN THE TOURNEY!!! Didn't go in expecting to win...just shows how close the compitition is in Vegas and how one BFC can screw everyone over!

Still not sure how the night's ranking was settled. I think I was to only one that went 3-0, but was second based solely on points? I always thought it went FIRST by number of wins and THEN second was settled by who had the higher point total, or First/Second (if tied 3-0 apiece) was settled by higher point total. I wonder if the Colts would still be Super Bowl Champs if the season was based solely on total points scored throughout the season. Still scored the LE, but it is screwy.

Anyone care to explain this one to me (and have it make sense)?

Yeah, you did go 3-0. That's right.

I believe the assumption is that if you get a record like 3-0. You should have a ######## high amount of points.

HOWEVER, things like Archenemies, Vendetta, and Alpha Strike, throw a slight kink in that equation.

It's kind of a weird way of allowing people who have gone, let's say 2-1 or 1-2 to be able to make a claim for first. It's that glimmer of hope!

Unlike Kools, where if you lose your first 2 rounds. You might as well drop if you're playing for an LE

Okay, but we both went into the final round at 2-0. Only one of us was going to come out "the winner" for the night at 3-0 - best record/best man. Jeff made a comment that the totals were close and that whoever lost, or ended at 2-1, had to watch out because Unsung was close and assuming he won his last match, he would be 2-1 and could unseat the 2-1 player at the "big table" and score the LE - tied 2-1 players go to the points. THAT makes sense. But a 2-1 team being ranked first over a 3-0 team makes absolutely NO sense to me. I'm not just saying that because it happened to me - I'd make this argument for anyone in that position.

I'd LOVE to go 0-3 one night, but end up with the most points by 1 and be first. The odds against it happening are astronomical, but it would be great!!!!!! I have no doubt it is mathematically feasible.

I'm sure one of you guys made that up but that is the most f-ed up ruling I've heard in a long, long time.

If you're perfect and you win every game.......points don't matter. You da man. End of story. Hello, I'd like you to meet the LE prize.

What's the point in W/L then? For record? Who cares! It's just how many points can you tally and I'll play Vendetta on all the figs I can, get so far up in the first round and laugh. That's the logic, right?

OK apparently I've started something here that was unintentional and I'm sorry.
I am not sure what the actual system Jeff uses for determining his win/loss records. I just made a statement that I had won the tourney and this was incorrect. Sorry Old man! I should have said "second" to get the LE. Didn't mean to start a huge discussion about this. Everyone rest assured that this was my posting error and give props to the Old Man for his win in the Tourney.

And by the way, I absolutely agree with the fact that you reward 2nd place instead of Fellowship. WTG guys! Great choice.

Anyway, thanks for the update Unsung. My previous post meant to take nothing away from you, at all. If you had actually won on points, that's not your bad, that would be the judges call and the blame lies with him/her.
