I own that, but I still haven't played it. How many people did you play with, and how many games did you play?

played 3 games last night, with 4 people.

Have played dozens of games before that though. 3 fine but 4 is the best. 2 plays very strange and differently.

It is a lot of fun, even my wife who is not a big game person likes to play it.


Like Catan, it needs 3 people. You can play with 2 or 4 but play is very different.

Splendor is a very solid game.

In it's core, it's an optimization problem. You are trying to assemble resources that generate energy in a most efficient manner to assemble more resources.

But with a "shiny" overlay so that the math isn't the focus.

I loved Splendor. Natalie Wood's performance was amazing and she was damn fine looking. I didn't know it came in game form now.

These 2 views seem to be at odds with each other.

Is it best with 3 players, or with 4 players?
