Just realized we didn't count the Morlocks. Was hoping to use Callisto. Maybe we didn't think of them as bad guys. I'll take Serpent Society. Sidewinder I think (the just who the hell is he?).
PS Do you agree that its ok to alternate if we find we're over-extended pointswise? Meaning I picked Mordru for Mystics but maybe I downsize to Shade.
I don't see the harm in subbing down if you have to. I see the Morlocks more as neutrals, which is why I didn't think to include them. But you can always take Callisto with your free choice, I guess.
Leave me with Superman Enemies. Rather than pulling one of the high cost figures (Maxima, Metallo, Bizarro...) or medium-high mediocrities (Luthor, Parasite) I think I'll just grab an overpriced generic Battlesuit guy.
My final choices are Lady Shiva and Titania. That is if you weren't picking Titania. Just realized how often i use half of these so I figured I'd do something different.
Almost used Venom. He was just a machine in our Spidey/Bats game. Deathbird is a favorite, good figure.
Boy I never seem to get map or objects roll. Now comes the hard part, placement. Do you want a line of 8 in a row facing 8 in a row or 4 lines of 2? I couldn't figure out a way to lessen the advantage of player 1 who essentially gets 5 hits before 2 can even move. Lemme know if you have any thoughts on that, otherwise we just go as is.
We're starting right next to each other then? Or just all the way across the board facing each other? Maybe we can have them start 4 or 6 squares apart?
Well I made most of my choices based upon the idea that they were right next to each other. I figured it would be a rapid fire game just can't figure out how to make it all the advantage of player 1. Maybe player 1 moves 1 figure, 2 the next. Also should we do a row of 8 altogether or 4 rows of 2? Maybe use the Marvel 2 board?
4 rows of 2 would probably be a little more even than one on one. If we do that, and give each player 4 actions instead of 5, player 1 would still get a slight advantage, but either they'd have to limit their attacks to 1 per pair or concentrate on two of the pairs, leaving the other pairings unscathed and fresh to strike back. (Not to mention that I rolled higher and you know how badly I've been rolling lately. I'll probably miss all 4 attacks!)
I guess the Marvel 2 board is fine in that case, though presumably, once the game's underway, we'd still be able to breakaway and move against other figures if we so choose?
If we do groups of 2, we can set up in rows M&N, spaces 1&2, 8&9, 16&17, and 23&24. I have mixed up my figures, so take the numbers 1-8 and put them in random order and that's the order they'll be set up in. Mix yours up as well and I'll do the same.
To make things completely random, we ought to place our objects BEFORE we know who will be where. I'll put mine:
HO L5, L20
LO M12
