It might not be the most amazing, but it does put a feather in their cap. Maybe something to offset the inability to TK your giant. And Star-Lord's Leadership will help too now that the rules have changed. So maybe, when you take those things into consideration, the Guardians of the Galaxy didn't get worse with the rules change. Maybe they are as equally decent as they were to begin with.

As for what you perceive as my passive aggressive comments, the fact is the people that play this game have a very broad range of skill levels. I don't think they are trash at the game. But maybe that they just don't have the experience that others do. That is simple fact. I'm not trying to degrade anybody, or belittle them. Some people are just better than others. I have seen one player at my venue routinely win with teams that look terrible on paper. Because he has skill. The man positions better than anybody I've ever played against. And I guarantee he could win better than 50% of his matches with a GotG team.

Use whoever you want on your teams. Just don't call 'em thematic.

Well I must say for now that Guardians of the Galaxy is a fun team at best. They don't quite have the synergy to be ultra competitive. If this is the point of the thread, then I can agree with that. If the team were whole........then they could probably compete with the Avengers, JLA and what have you. Until their members are filled, you really can't expect them to be "Tourny destroyers are anything". One who knows could help the team out, but that was more for a mission rather than being on the actual team.

Gamora not having the keyword really hurts this team IMO. She pretty much rocks, but unless your judge allows her, she ain't gettin' on. Its really to bad she was in the works before she actually joined the team. Mercenary feat on her would get her the Defenders TA as a backup to Groot's defense.

Until they get Mantis (who should supply some extra probability to the team and mind control), Cosmo (who should actually have TK because he does have it...dunno where people say that he shouldn't get it are gettin that), Drax (who should supply some extra muscle) and Adam Warlock (magic user with decent ranged attacks and possibly some sort of SP enhancement), they will always be very challenging to play. Avengers, X-men, JLA have a lot to choose from so of course its a lot easier to play and win with those type of teams. GOTG takes a lot of skill and leaves no room for error. (Not talking bad about anyone's skill level here, it really is a challenge playing this team) So I see where you're coming from HAP.

It may be best to wait for the other characters to fill the team to take them on realisticly.

Basically, yeah. The popular majority says GotG don't suck and you say it doesn't. A bunch of people have had success with GotG but you haven't and you act like everyone else is playing scrubs because they must all be wrong. I didn't realize that, I mean how did I ever keep this going for like, 15 pages.

I really don't feel like reading through 5+pages of a debate which seems to have stalled. I'm just curious how one of my favorite teams, hosting a roster of Yondu, Star-Lord, Bug, Rocket Raccoon and Phyla is hurt by TK. Especially when they have an ATA that essentially gives them Fortitude-lite.

So, why does TK make them a non-viable team option?
