Tested out the Dominion force that Reklawyad suggested and it didn't do nearly as good as it looks like it is supposed to do, so I've decided to change up the force into a 2 ship force, basically the strategy being "which Gigantic Gunboat do you need to deal with first?" and I'm utilizing both Admiral's Orders.

What do you all think?
That looks cool. I would drop the enhanced weaponry and one of the energy dissipators off the Portas in favor of more torpedoes, though. That thing is designed as a torpedo launcher, keep it in the rear and just launch torp after torp. The dissipator is just in case someone gets past all that.

That makes sense, Torps over the Enhanced is definitely better, not sure why I thought otherwise.
The fact that none of the Dominion ships have rear arcs REALLY pisses me off. I think all of our torps should cost less due to that and increase the cost for out of faction ships using them.

I haven't played Dominion yet, but that is a pretty big weakness of theirs. Don't get drawn into a chase around the planet, you're doomed that way. You just don't have the maneuverability for it. At least, that's how I defeated them last time.
My store's "Month 4" is coming up on Saturday (1/11). I've never really been good at Fleet Building, but I go to have fun. If that means I do well, that's great. If that means I come in dead last, that's fine as well. I'm thinking of putting this together for my fleet this time. The point is essentially to try to roll as many attack dice/hit for as many crits as possible while keeping my ships as close together as is possible.

That looks fun, and it gets points for simplicity. 3 points is enough for, I dunno, a Romulan Tactical Officer or Pilot. Maybe go for the Tactical Officer to help attacks stick, since the Pilot's extra maneuver might make your formation fall apart.

Also see if Admiral's Orders are in use. They provide some very useful bonuses.
Agreed. United Force would be amazing on this force. The fleet's biggest drawback, IMHO, is no Tech slot on the Valdore class. As such, you are limiting your 10 pt adds to Crew or Elite Talents (as no one is likely going to use Weapons on the Rom ships currently being considered for this build).
If you have access to the Romulan Pilot from the LE PB&J, I'd suggest it as the last 2 points.
You can also switch out the Cloaked Mines for Polarized Hull Plating on the Khazara and then add a Tactical Officer to the generic Valdore as well.
You get 10 addiitonal pts of upgrades and you get one additional die re-roll per round, even if the die has been rerolled before.
Considering you have Tachtical Officers stacked on the ships, this will likely benefit you on Defensive rerolls.

He doesn't have 2 extra points, in your suggested force, though.....technically.
You have the Tactical Officers using up 9/10 possible points for UF......the last 1 will be lost unless it's used up on Bochra or Parem (both being 1 pt crew for the Romulans)......or if you switch things around.....but with all of the upgrades being 3 pts that seems unlikely.
He really has 9/10 pts used for UF and 99/100 for his build....but he can't combine that to make it a Romulan Pilot, sadly, without some re-tooling.
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?

Hmmm. Has that been FAQed?
I read it that you have 10 additional pts to spend on upgrades during set up. I didn't think it mattered if you used the points to combine with your normal 100 as long as they were "upgrades".

Nope it was stated by the game designer that you are still limited to your original points build (100) and then you get up to the bonus 10pts to spend via the Admiral's Orders. Any leftover from the fleet build cannot be added to the +10pts.

Then in that case, a 3 Valdore fleet as proposed could still run one Tactical officer to hit 100 and add in 2 more plus round out the left over 4 pts with two Rom Pilots or All Forward Disruptors.
On the same note, I see a lot of people in battle reports on YouTube messing this up. Those 10 points you get for the Admirals orders do not count towards your build, they do not count towards the ships points cost they are on. That is another reason that you need to specify what you spend them on.
When totalling up the fleet points after a battle, it is the max points for the build (in this OP that's 100 points) minus the surviving ships that you have. So for this OP your opponent scores 100-what you have left.
Resources are only scored for an opponent if they wipe your entire fleet (in the case of the sideboard, they still only score the 10 points you paid for the sideboard and not the <20 pts that you spent on the cards on the sideboard).
Cards that say "Discard this card to..." are NOT scored by your opponent, unless the ship that those cards were on is destroyed.

Good point. When looking at the AO in that light, it makes TOTAL sense to me now.
Much like the Sideboard, not sure why I did not see it that way before!
