7 ft. tall soldiers? meet my soldier! 100 ton a couple of stories tall and a #### load of weapons.... crunch! crunch! crunch! squid! and what do ya got? a lotta flat dead 7 ft. tall soldiers... and yes it would make sense that ONLY clanners get their genetically engineered 7ft. tall killing machines... cuz since when did the highlanders grow their kids in a jar?
@Freakboy
yea right 16" ballistic 5AP and 12AV around 300+?.... that alone CANNOT HAPPEN.... most 16" are energy sooo that cant shoot over blocking, and most only got a 10 attack, makes it hard to hit stuff.... that thing SHOULD cost AT LEAST 400pts and have a heat dial that if ya so much at look at it funny it would blow up for 6 clicks of ammo explosion....
as for the poo stands? look at the panther... if that thing aint trying to poo i dunno what da heck it is trying to do, cuz it aint standing! and the feet are way tooo big to walk.... i understand that the mechs/units are NOT to scale of each other.... but for the love of jebus let it be to scale to itself.....
oOOooOo gray base neat... i thought there were gray base of something like that already.... cuz i remeber reading something about that while looking at some unit in mwdarkage.com but maybe i was just crazy... who knows.....
as for the JF new mechs... now that i got a good look at them they dont look that hot anymore.... still like the one w/ the dual missile rac the best.... the design is not what i expected... but they were alll VERY well done and i have to say that i am impressed.... hope to see more good things to come out of this set....
The Mechs look cool, too bad we still have to wait another 4 and half months until Falcon's Prey hits the streets. MechWarrior sort of needs a boost more.

If you have read the battletech book with the elemental and atlas on the cover (cant remember the name of the book... i lost my copy last year) you would see why they are feared...
1 elemental vs. 1 Atlas = Atlas getting it's behind whooped... (of course the elemental was a veteran so... he was pretty handy with that claw... BUT HE STILL WON!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! COME TO ME MY BABIES!!!)
I say that only Spirit Cats and Steel Wolves shoulda gotten the clan battle armor... and only the inner sphere factions shoulda gotten the Inner Sphere Battlearmor...
WHY HAVNT ANY OF THE CLANS GOTTEN A JUPITER? A CYGNUS? A VULTURE? A THOR? ALL OF THESE ARE WELL KNOWN (except for the first 2... they new) CLAN MECHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
o btw... this set is gonna be AWESOME!!! (even tho i hate Jade Falcon's guts... im still gonna collect them... why? CAUSE I NEED SOME FRICKIN FIREPOWER!!!)

I also remember another novel where Kai Allard-Liao used his
mech's hatchet to play "batter up" with a bunch of JF "Toads".
After hitting several of them "out of the park", he set the mech's
fusion reactor to overload and ejected! ;)
Win instantly! Lucky players who find and return the instant-win certificates inserted into select Falcon’s Prey Boosters will receive one MechWarrior: Dark Age Aurora-class DropShip. For complete rules, go to mwdarkage.com.
Woah. Nice. At least that's a good reason to go and grab some boosters.

Yeah, and with a 1 in 9600 chance of winning (that's one every 200 CASES people) that's a great plan. It's an interesting plot, but in reality it;s statistically irrelevant.
Ok, first off, having Templars in this set will be sweet. But, just how do you figure to give it a 16" range??? That makes it out-range three turrets on the Aurora class. As it is, that LE Gyrfalcon matches the two Energy turrets. I dont think the Mechs are going to be able to do that. I suppose you could make an exception considering you're able to mount a Long Tom on it in MW4: Mercs, but that turns it into an arty mech. Can you imagine a Mech useing pogs?

::sighs:: I guess I'm the only one who really hates the idea of totem 'mechs, 'mechs which are supposed to look like animals or something, huh? I just wish they'd keep them looking like BattleTech-style war machines and not G Gundam or Gundam W-style metaphor-mecha. Don't get me wrong, I love Gundam W for what it is, but I like BattleTech because of its more sober take on mecha combat. These are like the party favors you'd hand out to the attendees at a five year old's birthday party.
I guess I should just go back to the Third Succession War, huh?
Sadia wolf did the 16" range first, and she did it better. She has 12 accuracy, and her secondary has alpha strike. And 22 defense with heavy armor. And a 7 speed. And a decent heat dial. And for 250 points....
yuri wolf did it first technicly, but he is no good
I hate totem mechs. I hate these new sculpts. I will pluck the wings of any I get that I can't sell. And didn't the JF use pretty much only thors in the initial clan invasion? If they don't get a thor quick, I'll be upset.

Like I said, I hope it's the RAC2x3 variant. AC2s (not RACs, but they don't always follow CBT mechanics anyway) outrange even LRMs. AC2s are some of the farthest shooting weapons in the BattleTech universe. Blackjacks with their pair of AC2s are nasty ranged platforms for only 45 tons.
That wingless one does look like a Phoenix Hawk IIC 3, -except for the left arm as a weapon. I wonder if it is the IIC3? If that's the case I think WK should hire Elfbait to design a few pieces. His IIC kicks major tail!
BTW, I hope the rest of the figs look as good :) We'll see after it's released and how the paint stacks up to these 'prototype' paint scemes.
