Holocaust [Nemesis] is the best 6. (You can't argue with that effect.)
The Sentry [Mighty Avenger] is the best 8. (See Holocaust.)
Tenebrous [Of the Darkness] is the best 9. (Galactus used to be the best but, Tenebrous stops Galactus.)
The Beyonder [Inhuman] (So, we haven't OFFICIALLY seen him but, he's better than Death, if he's the foil to her. He has a better ability by recover my character(s) and, he's a 10-drop with 28 ATK / 30 DEF.)

cosmic i have a question...did you just rip others for putting quicksilver and superman at their 0 cost and no cost places......and then put life model decoy at 0.....when you have to pay X points and play him...he can only steal stuff if you pay the points....so by your point he's not a 0 cost...he's X cost.....and if the beyonder is the same as death then wouldn't he be better as a plot twist...i don't know of anyone that's going to be running death or beyonder as characters...they're searchable non negatable plot twists...i'm not trying to pick a fight or anything here...but you shouldn't go call out guys for their picks and then pick 2 characters that don't count where you place them....

The best 0-cost character is Life Model Decoy. It costs me nothing TO PLAY. But, If I want to use it's effect, it's going to cost me something.

Superman has NO COST and is the only character like that. Thus, he is the best NO COST character.

The Beyonder is a character. Not a Plot Twist. Just because he can be USED or THOUGHT OF AS ONE, he's not a plot twist. Either way you slice it.

He's got: A better ability than Death, has better stats than Death, and, he's the friggin' Beyonder.

With MUN here I would make the following list:
No Cost: Superman, Last son of Krypton
0: Quicksilver, House of M (this guy is just nuts you hear me...nuts!!!!)
1: The riddler, Riddle me this (who hasn't either abused him or have him abused against you???)
2: Deadshot, Floyd Lawton
3: Wolverine, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D-hydra (wolvie can now attack directly...wait it just say can! it doesn't say can't like Elektra, really...what were you into when you made this one????)
4: Dr. Doom, Diabolic Genius (guess he can't go down)
5: Black Manta, Underwater marauder (over Garth just because it is a Secret Society Character)
6: Deathstroke the terminator (I leave only your biggest cost character non stunned...oops here it goes)
7: Terrax, Herald (so useful yet so unappreciated..give him some love)
8: The sleeper, Doomsday device-RAID (ohhh..I give all CL Elektra's ability...wait, I am a CL)
9: Galactus, Devourer of Worlds (is there really any discussion here??)
10: Death, Second force of the universe (You can splash here in any deck and it will do something!!!!)

I just got done reading through the last few pages of this thread and I have to saw... WTF?

A character's cost is in the upper-left hand corner of the card and it is the amount of resources you pay when you recruit the character. Go look at your old Fantastic Four starter rulebook or any other rulebook you own. Flip to the page with a "breakdown" of what each bit on the character card means. You'll see an arrow pointing at the upper-left hand corner that says "cost". You know what that means? It means that is a card's cost.

Further more proof of the upper-left being COST via an example: Batman, Twilight Vigilante has an effect that reads "Whenever Batman stuns a defender, its controller loses additional endurance equal to its cost." Now, tell me, when Batman stuns the new Quicksilver, how much additional endurance does that character's controller lose? 0 or 3? Further more are you telling me that if Batman stuns Kendra Saunders <> Hawkgirl, Thanagarian Heroine, who says "To recruit, discard a card", the controller is supposed to lose 2 additional endurance plus whatever the endurance equivalent is of a card discard?

Finally, if you are going to start saying that downside powers/"to recruit" powers are costs, then you sure as heck better start listing every possible combination of card "costs" in your curve of death. I want to see your "2-drop, reveal a Teen Titans character" choice, your 3-drop "reveal an X-Statix character", and all the rest.

A cost according to the game is what is in the upper-left hand corner, not what you personally see as the "cost" of playing the card. You aren't at all wrong to consider them costs in your mind but the game doesn't care about your opinion, only about the upper-left hand corner.
