Titans Reborn: When Aqualad is given a MOVE action, after resolutions he can use the Titans team ability at no cost. Titans Together: If another friendly character healed this turn with the Titans team ability, modify Aqualad's attack value by +1 this turn. Aquaman's Sidekick: When Aqualad is adjacent to a friendly Aquaman, they are both Wildcards. // MOVE: 웃OO>, Move. After resolutions, if Aqualad moved half his speed value or less, CLOSE at no cost. // When Aqualad occupies water terrain he is not dealt damage from the Titans team ability.
Creeping Catfish!

Merciful Mantas! Leaping Lionfish!
Great Guppies!
Holy Haddock!
.....The power flavor text for Garth causes me actual pain, Burt Ward has a lot to answer for.
He plays so well with Arthur that I'm interested in seeing what their duo has in store.
His move special packs a punch not only for Garth but for both Atlantis and Teen Titan teams. Allowing both himself and Aquaman to become wildcards lets them share their team abilities freely and opens up the option for some possible trickiness as well.
Suffering Swordfish he's good!.......now I just feel dirty.

oh, man. you couldn't read a single silver age aqualad story without these quips coming out every panel. they were everywhere! so I'm hamming it up, too, to give us a pre-tempest garth as much as I can. I could have been at it all day with the flavor text
the crux for this design, and to keep it from just being another Aquaman dial or Aquaman-lite, was to focus on his sidekick identity and go all in on the titans membership. so I put both the recent shared titans s, the one from rebirth, and they abandoned version from wwgf. then I added the mutual wildcarding so that they could enjoy the mutual overlap of their shared dual TAs bring to the table.
initially, that was that, but then I thought it a shame that the titans reborn wasn't triggering with the charge, and decided to swap it for a non-charge charge that would not only trigger the trait enabling him to use his ta with Arthur, but would also benefit from his jla ta. the was added in to make it more flavorful as non-charge and to underline the sidekick aspect of him getting to where he needs to be. and now it's also worded so that the titans together ta can trigger, too, sense the active player gets to determine the order of effects, so we've got a c-c-c-c-c-ombo catfish here.
JL - D! YES! The team trait is perfectly understated. I just love how it keys off a failed leadership roll. And Aquaman has a long dial of Leadership. He gets a click in his 25 pts mode too! Even better is how AM's other special abilities play off of that healing.
The rookie version would find ways onto so many teams. what a steal.

Honorary Titan: Increase the damage dealt to Aquagirl by Poison +1. // POWER: Aquagirl can use the Titans team ability at no cost. Mupo's Rebellion: Leadership. // Charge. If there are more points of opposing characters on the map than friendly points on the map, after resolutions a friendly character with the Atlantis keyword can use Charge at no cost, but must target the same character. Hit characters cannot use Leadership until the start of your next turn. Well, Aqualad? How Do You Like The New Me?: Perplex. When she targets a character named Aqualad with Perplex, also modify her same combat value +1.
All Right, I'm Ready To Go!
Aquachick
Adventures In Babysitting
Princess of Poseidonis
I feel the wording "POWER: Aquagirl can use the Titans team ability at no cost." is a bit odd...why not just give her the team ability? She has the keyword. Isn't the Titans team ability already POWER to use it? I feel confused.

Firstly if you manage to win map roll that 18 Defend is going to be fierce and while her thematic vulnerability to Poison is something for her player to watch out for her ability to use the Titans team ability at no cost is going to come up a lot more often.
Then I looked at her point cost and wow 25 points is a steal to put this figure on your side of the map.
Mupo's Rebellion jeeze louise that's worth the price just for the chance you'll get to use it. Yes she's squishy and your opponent might come gunning for her before you have the chance to put this into play, but if they're focusing on a 25 point piece that's reward enough for me.
Of course you hope that you won't be on the sticky end that needs to use Mupo's Rebellion.
Open all that up with a little special Perplex and I don't know what more you could want for your investment.....and of course she adds to the all important MAP ROLL!!!!
P.S. edit I apparently need to spread some rep around.

this aquaman was the first of my JLDetroit designs, so his design, actually keying off my mera design, informed my heal-based schtick for Detroit. so it was kind of a momentum thing here. and I guess it's kind of comic-accurate, after all, Arthur left Detroit once he got back together with his wife. "later guys! I've got a steadier source of healing (and water) to trigger my abilities!"
there are certain prominent characters I wish there were more cheap options for, to give them a guest appearance dial, as it were. and while the quarter point rookie is still there to lead Detroit, he's a more streamlined appearance to let you slip him in on more teams. he's got a little more the silver age Arthur feel to him, too, by making him more dependent on water to do his job

Nice callbacks on the traits. His pseudo-charge combo's with the Titans TA and the traits. It also let's him combo with his mentor, Aquaman.
Great job at a classic Aqualad
there's a lot of dial interaction designed on this one, I really wanted to ham up the sidekickery here. if you align the star(fish)s, he can make a big splash

I made it a power to activate it so that she can only give health and not receive it passively, since she lacks the ta itself otherwise. the design is intended to differentiate her as a full-fledged member and to better highlight her heroic sacrifice, which is alluded to with her vulnerability to poison

as stated above, she'll need a POWER action to then use titans ta at no cost, so it won't get crazy extra uses, but enable her to essentially use it normally (already a POWER) but just not get the benefit of it. tula's big heart is all about taking care of others and supporting. at least until ol' mupo tries to usurp the throne (oh, atlantis…). of course, you might not mind her taking a little more from poison or dmg from titans ta as that'll speed her along to when she transitions from helping to hurting ...the other team.
I made her a unique to help keep that potent perplex from getting out of hand, but mostly to keep mupo's rebellion from creating an infinity loop without needing more wording. it's kinda chunky enough as it is. with leadership such an important role in this set, she's a silver(ringed) bullet to take it out of the equation. her own leadership will be important in getting those men of war to follow her in battle and do better when following her charge (among other potentially better options for it).

good question
Thanks for the explanation, makes sense now.

Superb job on that speed SP. A really effective and novel idea basing the free charge on who's (theoretically) winning the game at the time. It is nicely balanced by being put at the end of the dial and forcing them to attack the same character.
Also great work on the damage sp. I have a love/hate relation with specific character dependent effects. I love it that it nudges the player to play more thematically, but I hate it when it is completely reliant upon another character. This is nice in that, she gets perplex, she just gets a bump when she's paired with aqualad. Win/Win.

thanks, i tried to bring her some justice. i can't get over how she's still unclixed. it baffles me. like, not even back in crisis. so i definitely wanted to make this character work. initially i was daunted by design, because, well there's a lot of in this set and her powerset isn't distinguished from a lot of characters in the set (let alone how many times i'm making aquaman here ) so i had to build to her story specifically to make a distinct dial for her.
the first bit is leaning into the campier stories from the silver age where she babysat and went on seadates. she's all support there, with her defend and perplex. i feel you on character specific stuff. i hate leaving points on the table (here's looking at you aou vision ). i did try to keep it useful on it's own and make you feel like you're getting more with it in optimal conditions as opposed to missing out. that was definitely a mantra i had to juggle all throughout a set focused on characters notorious for being fish out of water most times.
end dial, she gets more bronze age and becomes a combatant that is intended to quite literally lead the charge . it's that old design cheat of walking through a character's story on a dial and i went with three key elements of her story in her and SPs to hopefully give you more than just a generic water person, but a dial that could only be tula's
