So, I get a notice that my credit rating jumped quite a bit.
Apparently, the company that owns one of my credit cards changed names. So it went on my record as my old account closing and a new account opening up. The fact that I 'qualified' for the new card drove my rating up.
... At this point, I'm pretty sure it's all voodoo and diving from entrails...
For folks thinking of selling all or a bunch of clix, is it because the growth of the game is outpacing interest (if that makes sense)?
I just see things like team bases and whatnot and think, "Yeah, this is a good bowing out point."
It certainly affected my choice. Way too much product to keep up with. Also, I'm more gamer than comic person, and my money is more efficient purchasing board games.
I keep enough to play with and do sealed tourneys, but that's about it.
Oh, man...I'm on Deadline, where they've announced a new show produced by DeNiro that'll deal with neo Nazis in South Boston. The comments are ridiculous.
EXAMPLE:
Dudeguy: “I think this Neo-Nazi stuff is getting old. I haven’t heard anything in the last ten years about them, but constantly hear, on a daily basis about black gangs, Mexican cartel gangs, MS13 gangs and muslim terrorists.”
ME:
In order:
The Wire
Breaking Bad
Gangland
Homeland
These shows exist, people!

Oh, wow. It's like he didn't read this before posting it.
To me, he's saying "Stop picking on the Neo-Nazis! Pick on the blacks, mexicans, muslims, and whatever MS13s are!"

My problem is space and power creep. I don't have room for all the figures I have. The only reason I have as much as I do is because my wife never goes into our basement, aka the Batcave. I have stuff cluttered everywhere down there. My friends don't seem to mind, but I've known them for years so they're likely just used to it. Add that to the fact that I can't really play any old figures against any current figures and I think I'm ready to unload any figure from IC to Avengers that has had a remake. I never thought I'd be pro-carded figures, but I guess I've gotten used to it.

Yeah, recently we've tried a lot of different board games, and cost/space/playability seems much better on those. Heroclix gives you mroe options, but is super costly and takes up a ton of room.

Dork caves are a necessary environment for folks like us.
I still head out to NJ every year for the annual game weekend at my buddy's house, which has a "dork cave." It is a dank, musty, usually smoke-filled basement crammed with old video game systems, a mini-fridge, tons of board games, and decades worth of sentimental detritus.
I look forward to having my own!

The one I had at my town house was much nicer sicne my basement was finished. I just stored all my gaming stuff in the storage room. My current house has no storage room or really any storage at all so I put up garage style shelving and I have two old book cases filled with stuff. It's a total mess, especially considering all the sewer issues we had last year. I mean, it's not unsanitary, but it's dangk and dingy like you said. It's fun though. Once you start playing a game, the background dissappears.

Our house will have one of these for me, with all of my game consoles set up!
Yeah, I'm thinking of offloading a bunch of old figures. Did a bunch already, but I think there's going to be more going into the pot once I get home. The eBay calls, and it shall be answered. Or else here, but I'm skeptical about auctioning/selling here.

Got a basement that I'm trying to drum up funds toward finishing. Once that happens, the thing will be a giant multipurpose room, with a 12-seater dining table for games, built-ins for statues and busts, and tons of shelf space.
SOON, friends...it will be mine!

I've never had a problem selling here. I usually list figures at about $5 - $10 less than market value (I like it to be over with quickly), and say I'm not shipping until I receive funds, under any circumstances. Paypal helps.

Selling here is easy and you make more money, but no guarantees your stuff will sell. I usually sell on here and if it hasn't sold in a few months, then it's ebay time.
I think most of my stuff is too old at this point. I haven't really played in years. No real time anymore. I'll probably give a couple away, sell others and keep a few (favorite characters, memorable moments) for sentimental value.
If you let them kill your dreams, it'll haunt you.
