If the judge says, "Let your opponent use your dice," then you need to comply or be removed from the game.
The judge is ALWAYS the final authority at a tournament, the same way a ref or umpire is at any other organized tournament setting. You may not like their call, but it is their call to make.
I just disagree with judges making players share dice since rules documents state that player have to have their own dice to play in any event.
but yeah the judge is the final authority so its the judges job to c if someone is cheating not the opponent.
(btw im a judge myself ran tournaments every week even during the period of no new clix or no wizkids)

The rules do say that each player is responsible for being prepared to play, including supplying their own dice. The rules don't say that the player is required to use those dice during the game: in fact, the rules specifically allow for the judge/venue to require the players to use dice provided by them or to specify what dice the players will use. If in the interest of resolving a dispute about the randomness of the rolls from your dice the judge/venue decides the answer is for you and your opponent to both use them, where does that not make sense or contravene the rules?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

But it does not sound to me like we are discussing a situation where a player showed up tot he event ill prepared. Otherwise, the more likely scenario is that the player goes to the judge and says "uh, I didn't bring any dice with me, what do I do?"
No, we're talking abotu a situation where a judge has been called over and been told "For reason ZZZZZ, I want to use that guys dice."
Now, if ZZZZZ is "I really like his dice and boy do I want to use them" my answer is going to be "play your game and admire his dice from afar."
If ZZZZZ is "He hasn't rolled below a 10 all game." then I'm going to take steps accordingly. Ideally, you'll let me see/handle the dice and I'll do some test rolls of my own. If not, then I'll ask you for a reason and you'll say "Because YYYYY".
One way or another, I'm going to reach a decision. Either those dice need to be used equally for both players (Note, i said FOR each player, not necessarily BY each player), or they need to be removed, or someone needs to move on from their superstition. At a certain point, I don't really care which. But if someone is being unreasonable (read: refusing to do anything I think of to accomodate a fair outcome) then they are going to find themself with a loss and/or DQ.
And because ZZZZ and YYYY can be crazy/rerasonable for either/both sides is WHY I would not want to see a hard and fast rule saying what should be done about "sharing dice". because the problem isn't the dice. The problem is cheating. And I don't need a rule to say "no cheating." And I don't need anything more than the ultimate power that being a judge grants me to handle the situation.

i agree with u on the cheating aspect and have always agreed but some people are saying if ur opponent suspects u of cheating they can roll ur dice but to me the way they r saying it is taking the power from the judge since looks like they are saying that they do it without the judges consent or knowledge...
i hate to say it but even as a judge at my venue id hate to have to roll some of the players dice due to hyigene issues that they have but i do thats what they made hand sanitizer for and rubber gloves...

I used to like using my WizKids manufactured Mech Warrior dice. I'm sure there are still threads out there complaining about these dice. Everyone would always say "You can't use those! MW dice always roll 6's!" If anyone's ever seen me roll, you know that's not true.
If someone was nice about it, but suspicious of the dice, I'd always offer to let them roll them whenever they wanted. Usually, that offer alone was all it took to answer their questions. Some people would accept and realize that they don't roll any different than other dice.

I've had some complaints about my dice. I have several sets with the dots painted for 2 reasons. 1: It would be impossible to tell my dice from someone else. 2: I can pair them off.
I have Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. They can be awfully moody on occasion. The Judge and fellow players seen them roll hot and roll incredibly cold.
Ironically it was the judge annoying the heck out of me one game by wanting to use my dice. I feel that it is kind of screwed up to use someone's dice against them. That is so wrong to kick someone's butt with their own dice.
