That's a good point. Thinking in comic accurate terms Cobra shouldn't be able to hold onto NC.
But I completely disagree that NC is 'comic accurate' in general!
- Comic book NC needs LOF to squares that he teleports to.
- Comic book NC cannot teleport large characters
- Teleporting normal sized characters tires him out (should deal pushing damage)
- He has never (to my knowledge at least) used his image inducer in combat.
Other than those things he's reasonably accurate. I like the BAMF! power especially- that is VERY accurate.
No one's claiming that Nightcrawler is either accurate or inaccurate. Simply that Cobra is!
I just want to point out that Nightcrawler does not IGNORE COBRA nor does he Ignore his SP.
What he specifically Ignores is EFFECTS of other characters such as Cobra on his movement (as well as EFFECTS of terrain). BREAKAWAY is an EFFECT on movement thats why he ignores BREAKAWAY altogether.
Other SPs also ignoring these EFFECTS......
#02 Kid Flash Up Walls through Walls
#57 The Flash Have to Keep Running
#54 Mister Miracle/Oberon Charge with No Chains Can Hold Me
"A Jester unemployed is nobody's fool." - The Court Jester "And so he says, I don't like the cut of your jib, and I go, I says it's the only jib I got, baby!

This is not true. Nightcrawler needs either to see where he is going, have been there before and memorized the location or he has also used blueprints or mental images impressed upon his mind via a psychic. He rarely uses line of sight for any of his particularly fantastic manoeuvres.

I don't recall ever seeing an issue where he uses it as a tactic in combat, however he has been attacked while using his image inducer. The inducer is then ether turned off or damaged so that the artist can draw one of the best designed characters in comics. The dial only gives him his image inducer for two clicks, so it is arguable that the designers had this scenario in mind: Nightcrawler's using it at first, it then becomes damaged as Kurt does.
Am I the only one that gets confused when people bump up rules threads that have been dead for 4 months to argue about comic accuracy?
Yes. Yes, you are.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
“No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style.”
i'm just confused about the 4 month comment as it looks more like a year and 4 months to me and altho the date may not confuse me it sure is irritating to when someone brinngs up an old one just to argue something like comic accuracy.
@gnolaum: if you wanna set somebody straight try a pm next time
