I'm going to have to pretty much agree with everything you said here. I'm all for lower cost, super efficient dials, and the more I can for onto a team the better for me.
Nice to hear I'm not alone.
But I should point out that while that is my prefered dials I don't want that to the exclusion of the more powerful dials, who are definetly the preference of some folks.
If we're going to get multiple dials for 'spotlighted' charaters I think that a 'can do most of what we believe he can do' and a 'capture the feel of the character at a lower point cost' should be the first two designes to be produced.
Case in point, if this was the only Drax we were getting I'd be dissapointed overall and still happy with the dial....................but as we are getting at least 1 more Drax (and I think he's OK) I'm fine with it.
Looking at the two Drax dials we've seen though.......I think Drax can easily be made more powerful and we very well might be seeing another version of him.
Now if it's a chase, a LE or just another slot in the set that happend as a result the set expanded I'm not sure but I think there is at least a possibility of it.
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
An LE Drax would be ok with me. However, if we don't get another one I'm ok with that since the Super Nova versions are all three still really good figures.
I'm not opposed to the higher point guys, just look at my ranking for Thanos, buy for some reason I suck at playing OMA'S LOL.

I think the Universal Church of Truth and Dormammu and his Mindless Ones are going to be competing for my favorite villainous team to field for months to come! I'm really loving the way that the Cardinals all feed off of Magus and the fact that the whole team Regens!
Watch out Legends players, this looks better than my World of New Krypton army!

I really wish they'd preview more of the SRs - who's in there? Are the Cancerverse villains all chases?
Inquiring minds (and wallets) want to know!
The one Cancerverse figure we know of is Lord Mar-Vell and he's an SR. The one chase we know is The Keeper. So if there are more Cancerverse figures in the set (and at this point I'm skeptical. I expect that they'll be SRs.

Running Excitement Meter 5.7
001 Nova Prime
One of the best previewed figures of the set, surely he isn't the Nova Prime seen in Annihilation but he is cool with all that Running Shot followed by HSS. Very solid piece, nothing bad to say about it. Maybe we aren't going to get a Marvel Superman this set but Nova Prime and Adam Warlock make two great Marvel Eradicators!
002 Nova Corps Recruit
Nice addition to the Nova Corps keyword. Generally I don't like generics but his perplex late dial is great combined with the powers of this set Super Nova. The downside of this piece is that I won't play it in any game except for boosters and in Nova Corps themed team.
003 Cardinal of the UCT
Another really good generic, the Cardinals can dish a lot of damage in almost every click, not bad for a 66 points expecially this days. The only thing I would cut is Invulnerability, because it boosts up too much their point cost.
004 Skrull Rebel
I don't like this figure, surely it has a lot of clicks for 30 points but it's all that it has.
005 Annihilator Seeker
I would have given a 6.5 to this figure if the special power was a trait. Low attack and defense values with a misplaced sp. Not enough for 70 points.
006 Doombot
Finally the normal kind of generics I usually see: the one I don't like. Seriously I don't know why anyone should spend 55 points in a figure like this. One of the worst figures of the set, only the sculpt is cool.
007 Blood Brother
Good if you play two of them but that's all.
008 Nebula
Good trait and powers but for 83 points she sports too low attack, defense and damage values.
009 Namor
Surely we couldn't expect to see another Namor strong as the one of Secret Invasion. This Namor is not too bad if you have some Perplex around to pump his attack since he is going to have 9 attack if he uses Move and Attack. If he had Charge in his starting clicks he would make a good replacement for the old one. Don't know why this version lacks the X-Men keyword since the GF one has it.
010 Adam Warlock
One of the best figures previewed. He and Nova Prime are Marvel's Eradicators! I don't know why he has Hypersonic Speed on his dial but no one will ever complain over it since HSS is the strongest power of the game, so I'm ok with it too. Really strong figure, great attacker and supporter, can be swtched to Magus and with the GotG ATA he is unoutwittable too. He is just too good!
011 Drax
Finally we get Drax in his last incarnation, but in my opinion the fun ends here, I find him a little over-costed for what he brings to the table. Maybe if he had started with Blades or if he costed around 100 points he would have been better.
012 Charlie-27
six clicks of damage reductions just don't justify 92 points.
013 Hollywood
Really solid "Tank" character and with the GotG ATA unoutwittable too.
I can see him used in a Guardians of the Galaxy themed team in larger point games. Really cool that his AV never drops below 10.
014 Astral Dr. Strange
Really cool for the points. Can be very annoying in some teams.
015 Nova Corps Centurion
I would play him only in Nova Corps themed teams if I want to play TK. Possessing 1 click of TK, some of enhancement and being a sub-par kind of attacker don't justify his point cost to me.
016 Cardinal Raker
I believe that for his point cost he shouldn't be played except if you are gonna play him with Magus because if that's the case this figure becomes an almost unstoppable death machine!
017 Lyja the Lazerfist
I really don't like this figure. Yes she can be used to tie-up but she does only 2 damage, has a low attack value, if she is not played with Human Torch, and costs 80 points. There are already tons of better tie-up figures and all do better for less points.
018 Ravenous
I really like him, very solid and great trait. Really a great fig, maybe just a little overpriced.
019 Dr. Doom
Not the Doom everyone were expecting but still good.
The lack of move and attack is "almost" compensated by Indomitable. Mastermind is switched with his trait that allows him to heal himself when a Fantastic Four is KO'd. The only thing that this Doom is really missing is the Flight ability. All in all a good Doom. Remember that he shines in an F4 themed team.
020 Magus
Magus is one of my favourite pieces from the set. This guy can really be nasty and control the board too. I believe that Magus can be one of the figures that can be played competetively in tournaments. If some character that will be released will have some kind of anti-HSS power, I expect Magus to be seen in high placement at this year Worlds.
021Red Shift
Too low attack and damage values for the points. He is cheap but he should have had a 10 attack an 3 damage at least in his second click.
022 Xavin
I really dig his trait but I think he is a little overcosted.
023 Blastaar
I believe he costs too much for what he brings to the table. He is solid but I would have preferred to see some sort of psychic blast or pulse wave earlier in his dial.
024 Nikki
I don't like this one. Too low values everywhere to be worth his point cost.
025 Martinex
I really don't like him, he costs too much for what he brings. Low damage values and low defence with no move and attack. His defence sp is good but I don't like his attack one. Martinex could have been a great "low" cost tie-up but he can't fullfill this role because of his attack sp. Surely his sp is not that bad since you are using Energy Explosion and after Incapacitate but this means that you cannot use Incapacitate if you haven't used EE first, so he can't even use it when in close combat!
026 Mole Man
I don't know where he was a member of the Infinity Watch but more of them, the better. I really like him, he is a good support character and is really monstrous in a Monster themed team.
027 Hulk
Always the same wrong Hulk dial. The dial isn't bad but isn't representing Hulk at all.
028 Dr. Strange
Nice version of strange and I like the ability to spawn Astral forms. I still prefer the Secret Invasion one since I find that this version is too much based on the spawning mechanic, which is cool but I found it too slow to pull of, since you have to push Strange to his second click and then clear to begin to attack from the astral forms.
029 Morg
I like Morg, really cool representation and great addition to the Heralds of Galactus (they should have made the keyword since Herald is a generic one), I would have preferred a starting 11 attack since the point cost of the figure but we can't have all we want.
030 Fallen One
Great dial with great damage potential. The only thing I don't like are the low speed values in his first two clicks.
031 Captain Marvel
Cool sculpt and dial for a solid figure. For similar point costs even if I would have to lose the Indomitable I'd go with Nova Prime or Adam Warlock.
032 Adam Warlock
For similar point values I prefer the common one. He has a great trait and a great sp but he is too fragile to me (even if the trait is there to compensate somehow)
033 Gamora
Cool for the points. If the blades were switched with CCE in the first click it would have been better. Why she hasn't the Guardians of the Galaxy keyword?
034 Super Skrull
He has a good damage potential but for the points he has mid-low defense values in the first half of his dial and mid-low attack values. I believe its powers are places in wrong clicks too to be worthy of his cost.
035 Replica
Not too bad for the points but in she really doesn't excels in anything.
036 Silver Surfer
Personally for a matter of themed teams I would play the avenger one instead of this (Even if his special is great I believe that for the themed teams he has access to, HSS is better, even better because if you are playing Surfer in a themed team probably you are playing at 500+ points). Regardless of themed teams this figure is great and probably one of the few figures of the set that will actually see competetive play. In standard point games (300) he can be really nasty if supported well since his sp allows him to alpha strike.
037 Mr. Fantastic
Very good. Great support piece. His trait combined with Dr. Doom's trait is just diabolical. He makes up to be a great secondary attacker too.
038 Thing
Really good. Really cool sp even if I believe that it will be very rare that someone will ever choose to be attacked again. Indomitable and Impervious are really nice additions, unfortunately the Thing loses his old movement sp and has low attack values for its point cost (a starting 11 would have been great and the nines start at the fourth click, too soon).
039 Cosmo
The figure that everyone (except me) were expecting. I really don't like the character but he is really good for the points. Really good support figure expecially for GotG and Annihilators themed teams.
040 Gladiator
I don't like too much his dial. He sports 2 great starting clicks and a good trait but it's almost all we get for almost 200 points. He can do lots of damage even in his third and fourth clicks but he has only 5 range and this is what criplles most those clicks. If only he possessed Indomitable maybe I would have given a real chance to him.
041 Lord Mar-Vell
Really good figure, with really good sps. I don't like the trait too much since it gives all others friendly figures a -1 in defense department for a +1 attack. A little overcosted to me.
042 Medusa
The worst SR of the set. She costs too much for what she brings. No move and attack, low attack and defense values and her trait isn't really good as it seems. Surely it grants her and an adjacent Black Bolt +1 to their attack values but Black Bolt is good for his Pulse Wave and to use this trait Medusa is going to get hit by her husband's scream.
043 Stranger
Really cool sp unfortunately he doesn't start with it. The trait maybe is good too but makes him difficult to hide from opposing characters attacks. A couple of 11 attacks here and there would have helped him.
044 Mistress Death
Full dial psychic blast with 13 range and the ability to shoot throught characters and ignore hindering is just too good. Unfortunately even if she possess a full dial of stealth she has only 4 movement (and doesn't even fly). From mid dial to the end she has a too low damage value for her point cost.
045 Thanos
Thanos is always Thanos. One of the best Marvel characters has been re-made again finally! I expected some kind of sp and I don't like that he doesn't sport Outwit in his starting click. I don't really see the point in playing his 150 points version since there are tons of better characters for the points. He'll have hard times played in low-points games even when played in his 300 points version but surely he is going to shine in high point games and battle royales!
046 Dr. Doom
I hoped to see this Doom in the set. I haven't seen the sculpt but from what I'm hearing he is the one with the Surfer's board. Really good, the only thing that keeps him is that "activation" click (even if it's really thematic).
047 Mr. Fantastic
Wow, what a great Mr. Fantastic. If he possessed Running shot in his first clicks it would have been the definitive Reed. Good good good. Psychic, perplex, outwit cool sps and 8 range make him really great.
048 Keeper
Not the 300 point Surfer everyone were expecting. He has low attack and defense values for the points but sports very interesting sps and trait.
His damage power is a powered up outwit (the only bad thing is that he doesn't start with it), his attack sp can be really dangerous and has potential for abuse, while his trait permits him to reposition everywhere on the map.
049 Thanos
Awesome, really awesome! He is the greatest figure I've ever seen. That first click alone can make you win most of the games. He really is on another level compared to every figure ever created. WOW just WOW, one of my favourite characters is now the best of the game. Now All I want to see is him destroying Cosmic Spidey haha Thanos Reigns!
100 Super-Nova
Once he is out of his first click he is really going to bring the pain to the table. He is really going to shine in Nova Corps themed teams thanks to his damage sp.
101 Iron Man
He should have started with Running Shot and should have little better defense values. Possessing 16 on the third click for 150 points it's just wrong. His sp compensate that issue a little. Overall he is one of the few figures of the set worth to be tried.
102 Hulk
With the one of the regular set I hoped we had finished seeing Hulk dials made wrong but it seems WK doesn't get enough and this one is really one of worst of them all.
103 Wolverine
Finally we get a better Wolverine, sporting both 7 clicks and Toughness. Everyone will say finally WK made it, they have overcome the weaknesses previous Wolverine had! Yes this Wolverine is better but they have nerfed his trait and it is really bad right now. To heal Wolverine has to be at least 3 squares away from where he has to be: close combat! So you can't heal when he really should . Still better than previous ones except than the Horsemen version.
104 Spider-Man
I like this Spidey, except for comic accuracy, but we can't have all we want (expecially in this set). I still prefer the 78 points one from Web of Spider-Man but for me this is the best one right behind that.
201 Nova
I won't ever play him because he is way too overcosted but he is a great representation of the old version of the character.
202 Skrull Assassin
Now you know why Skrulls lost during Secret Invasion, with a dial like this what are you expecting to kill?
203 Namor
I believe this is one of the most comic accurate versions of him (the Secret Invasion one was really too much for Namor), I would have really loved him if his Super Strenght and his sp were swapped.
204 Drax
Dial too short for Drax but I don't dislike this Gamora feeling the dial possesses. Unfortunately he should have slightly better defence values and at least 3 damage in his second and fifth clicks.
205 Dr. Doom
A different take on Dr. Doom and the best figure from the Gravity Feeds. I don't dislike him but I prefer the more "classic" representation of Doom.
206 Dr. Strange
He brings lots of supporting powers to the table. But I can't see him worth his 75 point cost.
207 Hulk
Another wrong Hulk. If he had Super Strenght where his sp is he would have been worth a try at least.
208 Super Skrull
Cool special powers but with his low attack and defence values and with a short dial like that I don't know how he can cost 100 points.
209 Silver Surfer
One of the worst representation of the character. He has power cosmic but that is the only thing you are going to get from a 149 points character.
210 Nova Corps Denarian
Again I really don't know how can this figure cost 80 points, one of the worst figures of the Gravity feed.
G001 Galactus
I really like his Herald trait but I don't know if this Galactus is really worth his points.
G003 Master Mold
Really cool how he can spawn sentinels all the way but as for Galactus I find it difficult to believe he is worth his points.
G004 Giganto, The Mole Monster
Solid stats but I believe he is overcosted
G005 Uatu the Watcher
I like his "Watcher" dial but he is a too big target. I'm not sure about his other versions.
G006 Dormammu
Loving the sculpt but I hate that they made him colossal. As almost every new colossal he is way overcosted. He is too soft for his points. I don't want to talk about his 250 point version (with 1 click with 11 attack are you serious WK?)
===================================
001 Nova
I like the +2 attack sp but he is not Nova and overcosted too.
002 Silver Surfer
He has 9 range and Power Cosmic but it's all you get for 200/100 points. Not great attack values and low damage for a figure with almost no penetrating damage.
003 Gladiator
If he started with HSS this would have been a great Gladiator.
004 Quasar
Not too bad but the TK should have been in the starting clicks of his both starting lines. His damage values drop too fast (at 100 points he does 2 damage after 2 clicks)
005 Beta Ray Bill
Really interesting special powers and Indomitable is a nice addition but for 9 points I still prefer the HoT one.
006 Ronan the Accuser
He has one thing that makes him not completely worthless: multiple point costs.
But even with that what we get for what we pay? Nothing. The only thing Ronan brings is his first starting click when he is played at 100 points.
Agreed! I'll get her ranked a little bit later but I just wanted to point out that many people are making the same mistake.
You (defender) do not decide the order you roll your Skrull TA and Shape Change for your figs..................the current player (attacker) taking his turn desides the order for you.
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?

Looks like I've been corrected on that one. I have adjusted my review to reflect the correction.

Just want to point out that while it's true that Dormammu's attack and defense values are relatively low, he does have Probability Control... as a Trait.
This effectively doubles his attack hit chances and halves opponents attack hit chances (or one of them anyway), not to mention he gets two cracks on his regen, add to this a deep dial with mystics and we got ourselves a terrifying battlefield presence.
