So you pigeon hole him in his own imaginary universe? Put him with Ultimate Mags? Or put him with the others.
I guess my question is does it really matter? If "regular" Magneto is a villain, presumably "Hypothetical Zombie Magneto" is a villain also. Like I said before, I drafted him instead of coring him, and he has the z-virus keyword anyhow.
So I'm just failing to see what problems arise with him being on my team.
Last season I had Freedom Force. If I were to run a team full of Freedom Force members, and say the Avalanche version without the Freedom Force keyword, he would still have the "virtual keyword" and I would get theme pc. This ended up pretty much not mattering at all, because I mostly ran lineups with all figs who actually had the Brotherhood of Mutants keyword.
So what I'm saying now is: Zombie mags actually has the z-virus keyword. I will most likely run squads with the actual z-virus keyword for a theme team, just like I did with the brotherhood actual keyword last season. If I wanted to run a squad with the older zombies who don't have that keyword but have the "virtual" marvel zombies keyword (just like every other zombie on my squad except zombie mags), then as long as a lineup with those older zombies doesn't include zombie mags, Id have a virtual theme team (and get theme pc) anyhow.
So again I will say, as long as I don't play zombie mags with older versions of zombies, how does it affect my team in any way?
Yeah I was just saying he's not theme for the Marvel Zombie universe. But has the keyword so there's no problem there if the old ones get retroactive with the keywords.

So he's got the keyword, and is considered theme for real world purposes, but not for league purposes due to the fact that he never existed in comics?
Mind you, I'm not trying to back one side or another, but wondering if that had happened before, where a figure was clixed that was never an actual character in a comic book?

Someone already mentioned the Iron Man chase figures. But they're all generic KW, so for all intents and purposes, they're irrelevant.
The one I can think of, with the Non-Generic Keyword, is Sinestro Corps Batman. One frame the ring flies onto his finger, the next frame Batman takes it off and throws it away. He's got the KW, but never was a member.
At least the Iron Man chases had cover art as source material. Sinestro Bats had the one page. Zombie Galactus and Mags were never even mentioned, let alone shown in as much as a panel, correct?
So when they go about creating these dials, they're really just flying by the seats of their pants, aren't they? I mean, they're cool and all, but comic accuracy is just hurled out the window at that point.

Galactus shows up and tries to consume the Earth. The zombies knock him down and start eating him. The next panel shows them leaving Earth's orbit to feed on other planets.
So he was in the books, but they never showed him Rise after being bitten.

I mention this every time someone brings up Sinestro Corps Batman, but he's an entirely imaginative character as well. Yes, there was that one panel in the comic, but that's not who that character represents.
If you read the short biography on the back of the figure's card it explains how he not only *kept* the ring, but also used it to eradicate all crime in Gotham City, instituting a harsh rule of order through fear. I'm pretty darn sure none of THAT stuff happened in that one panel

The main reason I brought it up is more as a clarification for future precedent than anything else. I fully understand your ability to draft Zombie Mags and play him in a Z-Virus team that is not the same as your original Marvel Zombies theme.
However I was mainly interested in figuring out which of those zombie Villains are actually in theme, and which aren't so that when someone else runs them in the future, there won't be any "Well, dbauers just ran them all together, so we will just stick with that."
So, I'm going to have to formally back out of this season. I'll be around to chime in and such, but I don't have the time or energy to devote to playing.

That sucks, I'm sorry dude! I hope all goes well for you in real life! Maybe you can "chime in" as a sub from time to time?
It's certainly possible . I'll mostly be checking in via my phone, so turns might be tricky. I CAN chime in on rulings and theme calls and such though, so I'll come in and say things like "I agree with Tanis", like in this zombie Magneto scenario
