An excellent idea, and excellent choices.
I spent a lot of time on the old WizKids rules forum and came to have a great deal of respect for Harpua. He was one of the very few people who, when his opinion differed from mine, I felt I needed to reconsider my opinion. Spending so much time there I was less familiar with Quebbster and Normalview's posts, but since that forum closed an I've spent more time here and gained great respect for them as well.
This is a terrific step...I just want to know if they'll be required to wear their badges...
Have you considered using Google Wave to discuss rulings and such? I think it would be a really effective tool for consulting each other collectively about rulings.

I have invites, if you need them.
For now, we're using the stone age methods of e-mails and forum posts.
In another group I got invited to requiring a lot of long-distance discussion we discussed using Google Wave, but we pretty much decided to skip it since it still has a few too many problems to be worth using. That's the extent of my knowledge about GW.
Errr...could all rules deputies have a signature line similar to Quebster? I am bad with remembering names, but signatures are handy for reminding folks that a post is from a big chief? Also, even though you don't know me at all I will be happy to be a Ronin rules deputy that can give rulings that will completely screw things up til a non-ronin RD shows up and clears stuff up (to keep things interesting).
"I win. I always win. Is there no one on this planet to even challenge me?"

That's why the Rules Deputies posts have an orange tint - so that they are easy to find.
It only works in Rules of Combat though...
I think the idea of Rules Deputies is great! Thanks to the three deputies for volunteering their time to provide definitive rulings and to Norm for his continued awesomeness as RA!

We have norm, the Rules Sheriff, and his three Rules Duputies. All fine, upstanding realms citizens.
I will claim the vacant title of "Rules Outlaw". I will use my slanted view of the rules to bring obfuscation and disorder to those who post their rules questions.
Please place my order for either a black or red background color, so that it's clear when the Rules Outlaw has spoken.
