I have the movie too, but it definitely came from the Buffy character. The whole story behind choosing the name is in this blog, and the comic proves that even my 3 year old is a geek.
And since Tollas brought up wedding songs, our first dance was to "Under Your Spell" from "Once More, with Feeling."
A student at the local university directed a stage version of the complete "Once More, with Feeling." I played Giles, and my daughter played Dawn.
"One day I feel I'm ahead of the wheel, and the next it's rolling over me."
Im a geek.. i got my comics.. my electronics.. my heroclix.. but my OBSSESSION is Football.. as for others here its the comics or the characters them selfs. Tattoos, wedding cakes, ties, costumes are all cool.. but alittle out of my domain.. As im geeky... some of you make me feel normal .
No, not serious. My post may have seemed serious, but It was meant as a joke as well. The video that I posted made the dude look practically mentally handicapped. People can think of me what they will. I could give a ####. I just find it funny that some people think of us all being like the guy in the video. Hell, look at Scott Porter! He looks like the kind of person that would beat up on our stereotype, but he's....wait for it...one of us...one of us!

Ron pearlman anyone?... lol I dont look a Geek until you notice the Dr.Doom shirt underneath the hoody.. But it takes all types... and that is what makes it fun.. the diffrent lifestyles bring in some greaaaat story's and POV's.
Not discounting your geekiness, but that isn't alltogether uncommon. I know of at LEAST 3 people not counting yourself that have done that for the same reason.
Now, if you named your kid TERRAX THE DESTROYER? I would bow down and hand my crown over to you.

OK, now who here knows Samuel L. Jackson. This guy has played some of the best roles in the movies and he is the epitome of coolness - and he is also one of us! He loves comics, played a character that we know about named Nick Fury - which the Ultimates team based the character off of his likeness (with his permission). He's been in Star Wars, "Unbreakable" (which was an awesome comic book based movie), Iron Man and will be in Iron Man 2. Now, to be in the same catagory with this guy is pretty freak-in' sweet if you ask me. The fact that I know this and I..
- have t-shirts with comic book heroes/villains on them
- collect graphic novels
- draw comic book icons
- play City of Heroes and will try almost anything Hero based at least once
- still play Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
- still buy action figures and graphic novels, especially from a few local comic book stores (which I love going to and spending hours just looking)
- have almost all the Marvel and DC movies that have come out, as well as both Hellboy movies (Ron Perlman rocks that character, and he was awesome in the Beauty and the Beast series)
- collected JL, Batman the Animated Series, the old 1940's Superman series, Ultimate Avengers, and the Smallville series (only missing last season)
- I have a giant Superman statue that I've put out on display along with a bunch of action figures (in my man cave that I set up down in my basement - yes it's my basement in my house, not my Mom's)
- I love anything superhero based including Heroclix (which I will pull out and play by myself when I'm in between tournaments, or will just pull out and build random teams for the fun of it, and I do this for hours)
- I wear JL pajama bottoms and I don't care who sees or knows about 'em
- I'm always scrolling the internet for any info on upcoming comic book movies
- I've tried to be at every comic book movie premier, so far I've only missed 2 (I didn't see Watchmen or 300, and I missed Spider-Man because I was deployed over seas with my Marine F-18 squadron at the time)
That's about all for me. I wouldn't say I'm an uber-geek or anything like that, I'm working on my next level. I'm focusing on my charisma and willpower right now and my stamina needs some work too, but I think I'll hit level 34 in, oh say, about 8 months or so (not counting May). Oh yeah, my I married my wife who loves gaming and comic book movies and understands when not to bug me when I'm gaming, she even has an interest in Heroclix (her favorite character is Johnny Storm). Bonus experience for me!
Oh yeah, my wife named her son Logan after she watched X-Men (and she has a signed picture and Wolverine action figure).

Reason: Added Ronny boy
Smaug: "My wingspan will blot out the sun!"
Thorin: "Then we will fight in the shade."

What about Nicholas Cage? Cage isn't his last name. It is a stage name that he took. His last name is actually Coppola and is related to Francis Ford Coppola. The last name Cage was derived from Luke Cage who is one of his favorite characters. He has played Ghost Rider (though not well) and has an extensive collection of comics himself.
