$5 is too low, $15-20 seems to be that range. Unless the game is nearly or dead no promo would go for that low. Guess you will be dreaming for a long long time.

You might be right. However, this promo will be available again next year. Promo's are all about exclusivity and when they are no longer hard to obtain they lose value quickly. If Gax and Portensio are reasonable easy to pull out of packs next year then the card version will drop like rock.

I think you are right. But in the mean time there is timed exclusivity, which is almost a year. Having said this, the game is not even out yet and during the initial stage of alpha we won't even have PvE to use Mercenaries. So considering these facts, people should be careful about purchasing them at current price.

Although I personally want them, I am definitely holding off as indeed my prediction is those price will continue to fall, and who knows they may not even be available to use until right before we can pull from treasure chest on our own.

Those are extremely good points to keep in mind. We also have no idea what game impact this Merc may or may not have. If it becomes an irrelevant bump in game experience then it could fall even further. Once exclusivity is removed demand will be focused on the value of the item.

I don't see how it could be anything but a bump - they're PvE only and basically an aside to the core of the game play...my money is that they don't highly affect you at all.

I concur, but it remains to be seen what the balance will be between PvE and PvP play is. If the Gax merc is broken and OP'ed it might have some value, or most likely it will have no real value and prices will drop off a cliff. Time will tell.

Mercs, I believe is PvE only. Champions are used in PvP and maybe PvE too.

I was specifically speaking to demand if that was not clear. If PvP is the main demand driver then Mercs will be irrelevant and prices of Gax will drop. If PvE becomes the main driver, then Mercs should be in demand and prices will rise.

UPDATE: No further sales of either Gax or Portensio. It looks like a few more have been listed in the $65-$85 range. Apparently people have not been following the sold listings page before they list their items.

It could be that some were sold, but the buyer never paid because he saw how low the listing went and decided it was not worth it and the seller don't feel like listing it that low because it did sell for that much but cheaper ones popped up ruining its sale.

Generally speaking buyers with a solid feedback rating will not sacrifice it over a few bucks. But, even if that happened it does not change much. Prices are dropping.

Probably not Alpha, as there won't be any PvE in Alpha, thus no Mercs. Beta maybe.

+1. I would even posit that probably not until open beta when new people can come on board and bring some demand.

I still say they would have to be wildly better than the ones freely available to warrant money when Cory has said that we won't be able to get them all anyway.
