I'm torn over this set.

I admit I am a big X-Men fan. I have a continuous run of the series from 137 through 248 before I took a break. Came back with Astonishing X-Men and have stayed the course since then.

My biggest concern is this set is so heavy on X-Men it implies we won't see any X-Men UNTIL another X-men set. 2013, possibly?

I was hoping for more of a mix. X-Men heavy, for sure, but scads of other pieces that are missing from prior teams.

Only 13 out of 58 that I'm not dying to get. And if I do I'm fine with it. Its a win/win and I'm glad I'm getting my first case. Curious to see if there are 10 or 12 SR's.

If there are only 10 the Predator X's will be easier to come by as generics.

Here's hoping the new Astonishing Wolverine is on the level of WOS Deadpool, he's waaaaay overdue.

Maybe. I just have a problem with a Wolverine tipping the scales at 150 points. I would think 120 would be the absolute most any Wolverine ever should be costed at. Unless he's a Cosmic Zombie or some such thing.

I don't have any problem with it, if deadpool, elektra, batman, taskmaster and other such characters can, i don't see a problem. Wolverine is arguably/and likely more powerful than any of them individually.

Wait taskmaster is only 140, but still. Also if forgot deathstoke.

Agreed, although Deadpool and Wolverine had a pretty awesome toe-to-toe fight a couple of years ago involving Wade dropping a piano on his @ss and shooting a bullet into his Wolvie's skull having it ricochet around in there repeatedly (granted this didn't involve Whedon/Cassday's Astonishing Wolverine that Wolfpack86 was commenting on) But they could be closer than we think in point cost ...

Indeed. He should also get a trait like White Lantern Hal. Something to the effect of him being on Avengers, X-force and X-men if he chooses the keyword.

I agree. I think the best we can hope for is off theme mini sets that are popular. Like X-Force that we got in WoS..........possibly one every set though.


Depends on what they deside to do with him. If they give him his death touch(I think they called it) or show how he acted to help out X-Force he might have some interesting options that wouldn't be on the cheap side. I could easily see him with some offensive punch being around Indigo-Atom's 65 pts.

Deathstroke takes on the JLA and the Teen Titans - and has taken on the Teen Titans since his creation. Wolverine is not more powerful than him - or rather, Deathstroke at his best is well above Wolverine at his best. The same applies with Batman, though there's no regular version of Batman above 120, anyway. Meanwhile, the high-point Elektra really isn't worth the points she costs, nor the 140 point Taskmaster.

Deadpool's a bit of an anomaly and I think most people are willing to concede he's a touch more powerful than he should be. It also helps that Deadpool has range, justification for Phasing, and a few other powers that Wolverine wouldn't really have.

Wolverine probably shouldn't surpass 120 points or so. And, as always, I just want good, playable versions of characters that I can build a team around. I don't want 150 points of Blades/Claws/Fangs, when I can get an equally serviceable dial at 80 points, or whatever. An "Out of the Shadows" Batman quality Wolverine beats out a hundred 150 point monstrosities most days of the week.

I am most impressed with the EFFORT put into completeing some teams from old sets....Ch'od of the StarJammers, Harry Leland of the Hellfire Club, and Angel of Xmen 1st class. NICELY DONE, thanks!
